Jottings from Joyce: June 2013
http://www.jottingsfromjoyce.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. Take Me Back to Camping Days at Sandy Cove. It took me about one activity period the next day to realize that I absolutely loved camp! There was so much to do and learn and enjoy! Camp called me back for eleven more years. When I was too old to be a camper, I entered the CIT (counselor in training) program, knowing that I wanted to be a Chief too! The first year we had a reunion I stood and looked in awe down the long table of Chiefs gathered for. Whispered prayers with a homesick ...

Jottings from Joyce: December 2012
http://www.jottingsfromjoyce.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 31, 2012. This Christmas season has given many moments to remember and many of them have been all about the traditions of this time of year. At the risk of creating a post too lengthy even for me I'll try and look back on the season concisely enough that 2013 doesn't arrive while I'm still writing! Our Christmas tree came right out of yard this year - really! If you have a dancer in your family or know a dancer, you probably know that Christmastime usually means the annual Nutcracker pro...

Jottings from Joyce: Auld Lang Syne
http://www.jottingsfromjoyce.com/2013/12/auld-lang-syne.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. It's the last day of 2013 and I've so been enjoying not having to wake up at o'dark thirty or having to be on the go or on the road or just on. We've been having a wonderful Christmastime and I am not in any hurry for this break to be over. I really wasn't in any hurry for summer 2013 to be over. August was such a can we just stop the clock and be in this season right here for more than the fleeting moments it was feeling like? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Jottings from Joyce: January 2013

Friday, January 18, 2013. GANGSTERS and FLAPPERS and SPLURGERS, oh my! Herding cats. It's one of the best phrases I've ever heard that fits what I do most afternoons. Take 65 middle school students who have been in their classrooms all day and who now arrive at the auditorium ready to catch up with their friends, have a snack, check their text messages, and do just about anything but focus and you have cat herding 101. But we have a show to put on! Oh, yes. Are we still creating some props and painti...

Friday, May 24, 2013. Where Would We Be Without WAWA? This is the weekend when we get to pretend that summer is here! We forget that the calendar tells us that summer starts officially on June 21. Those of us in the Northern states try to forget that we still have to go to school for another two, three or even four weeks while our Southern friends gleefully post on Facebook that school is out or just about out. Like WAWA. Yes, it's true. I'm a fan. Not quite an addict, but definitely a fan...Do not ev...

Jottings from Joyce: April 2013
http://www.jottingsfromjoyce.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 12, 2013. It's happening again. We've had weeks of wondering if the seemingly higher number than average grey skies of February and March would ever grace us with blue again. We've looked longingly at the shut tight against the cold winds windows of our house questioning if they would ever beckon the breezes to gently blow through once more. When we know that if Jesus could conquer death, then He can handle anything else that a day may bring. When a nephew's esteemed teacher does the same.

Jottings from Joyce: September 2012
http://www.jottingsfromjoyce.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. Sometime it's just the little things, isn't it? Like sipping a hot cup of tea on a morning tinged with fall's impending arrival. Getting a big smile from the neighborhood kids whose profits just rose at their lemonade stand. The rumbling motor from the contented purring kitty in my lap. I am with you.". I love you.". I will never leave you.". If you grew up in Sunday School, you probably sang a little song that goes like this:. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Last ni...
