Restoring a 1979 MG Midget. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. I’m still disassembling and cleaning. Thursday, May 7, 2009. I got the passage side fender, most of the interior and front bumper off. Here are some pictures of the pre-restore. I had my freind Brian take a look yesterday to give me some pointers on where to start on the body work, and what to fix and what to replace. One of the impprtant things is a Haynes Manual for the MG Midget that I bought years ago and thought forever lost. This should be a great help. My 1979 MG Midget. Monday, June 8, 2009. Before Pictures: The Body. I haven’t had a chance to do a detailed analysis of the body but it looks pretty good. There are a few rust spots and only one that is all the way through. Not bad for a car that is thirty years old. Here are some pictures, notice that there is still a lot of clutter around.
