Straight from the heart...: Changing perceptions
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2013/04/changing-perceptions.html
Apr 30, 2013. After a while it became a habit for me to watch any 50 woman’s face to have a statistics on threading and about 80 % of the women of the age group I saw had shaped eye brows whether or not their profession needed it and whether or not they were pretty. Better late than never! PS: All said, I would always want to stick to "Do what suits you and stay away from what does not". May 5, 2013 at 3:24 AM. Mine changed when i felt presntable people are heard/get attention. May 5, 2013 at 8:03 PM.

Straight from the heart...: Oothukkadu, Aruna Sairam and Krishna Bhakthi
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2011/08/oothukkadu-aruna-sairam-and-krishna.html
Aug 24, 2011. Oothukkadu, Aruna Sairam and Krishna Bhakthi. While I bite a piece of thenkuzhal and cheedai made for the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi, I am also reminded of some of the great compositions of Oothukkadu Venkata Subbaiyar. Who was an ardent devotee of lord Krishna and a few mind blowing renditions of Aruna Sairam. It goes like this -. ThamAlathu mara nizhalE arakkudayAi. Vanam kidantha perum pArai ariyanaiyAi. MAnira andhi siru malargal padavinayAi. Valathu amarnda nappinnai arasiyAi. Are tw...

Straight from the heart...: Thank God I am NOT an atheist
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2012/08/thank-god-i-am-not-atheist.html
Aug 24, 2012. Thank God I am NOT an atheist. There is always a question within me about the existence of God - especially during tough times. I asked my pious father "When a man is leading a happy life, when he acts as per his conscience, when he does not indulge himself in immoral activities what is the need for him to pray to the Almighty everyday? And the body clocks of the mother and baby are so much synchronised that when the baby feels the need for assistance, the mother comes to the rescue even wh...

Straight from the heart...: Pittsburgh
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2013/12/pittsburgh.html
Dec 21, 2013. The first thing that amused me when I stepped out of the Pittsburgh Int'l Airport on the night of July 12th 2004 was the shining sun who did not want to retire for the day. It was around 7.20 PM - I was so tired due to the 30 hours air travel and the then-not-diagnosed motion/air sickness. The short time destination became a second homeland outside of India 3 years later. Of Pittsburgh. 6 years and 7 months in the same city is quite enough to be attached to the place, is it not? India like ...

Dec 17, 2010. 2010 is approaching its end. By God's grace I had to throw something off my mind that was worrying me for quite some time and the good deed happened yesterday. This is the best day of 2010 for me. In the same lines, I was thinking of the last few Decembers and I had only good things to count. Here is the chronicle -. 2010 - A sigh of relief on Dec 16. I can stay calm for some time. Thank you, my dear God. 2003 - We moved to Chromepet. Lots of fun! 2002 - Attended my SIL's wedding. I sti...

Straight from the heart...: What a way to get connected to my hometown?
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2012/04/what-way-to-get-connected-to-my.html
Apr 6, 2012. What a way to get connected to my hometown? Well, I am down with conjunctivitis better known amongst locals as Madras-eye. It started with my left eye last week and after 5 days it was passed on to the right eye also at the time when I was thinking about "oru kannil konjam vali vanda pothu maru kannum thoongiduma? Now, after a week, left eye is getting better and I have to wait and see how soon the right eye recovers. லெமூரியன். April 7, 2012 at 4:49 PM. April 8, 2012 at 9:51 AM. தந்த&...

Straight from the heart...: Childhood fantasies
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2011/12/childhood-fantasies.html
Dec 5, 2011. My brother used to watch hindi films and he used to say Shashi Kapoor was the most handsome guy from Bollywood. Those were the days we got to see a commercial based on the song "Pyar hua ekraar hua" from a famous Raj Kapoor movie. When I got to understand that Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were siblings I really appreciated their parents for choosing such rhyming names. I had literally kept 'not getting prickly heat' in my prayers! Though I have a sensitive skin I had never gotten prickly hea...

Straight from the heart...: Q & A (unconnected)
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2012/11/q-unconnected.html
Nov 17, 2012. Q and A (unconnected). My father addresses my husband as "Sir" who is less than half of his age. But he addresses my sisters-in-law who are older than my husband as "nee vaa po". My MIL addresses my elder brothers as "vaango/pongo" and when she talks to my oldest sister she says "eppadi ma irukke? Ain't we too far from 33%? Perhaps that is why parents always have a soft corner for the younger ones. November 17, 2012 at 11:57 PM. November 20, 2012 at 8:10 PM. Yeah, there is nothing about 33%...

Straight from the heart...: Mommy Blues
http://all-is-well-that-ends-well.blogspot.com/2011/07/mommy-blues.html
Jul 9, 2011. I sense an adrenaline rush when I wake up in the morning, I am not able to eat my breakfast, I feel I would throw up and I am able to decipher what my grand-aunt used to say on those days- "sankata aagathe" which means "there is an unexplainable trouble". Do you think it is morning sickness? It feels exactly like it but it is not so. This is called "leaving your child with another caregiver" sickness. Perhaps I must add "for the first time". Me: What did you do at * * place today? கருப...
