History & Theory: abstract
http://fgrob.blogspot.com/2008/02/abstract.html
Sunday, February 10, 2008. This paper is about the lack of local amenities in Las Vegas, a highly commercialized city. I have been researching what in fact there is to do in Las Vegas, one main focus has been what is there outside of the casinos; strip or otherwise. Books have been far and between for research and the internet has good information. Resources have almost been limited to the internet, local magazines, and local weekly papers. Nicholas Graal Arch Theory Skewed Spring 2008: Thoughts and Ideas

Nicholas Graal Arch Theory Skewed Spring 2008. Monday, January 21, 2008. After visiting Cambridge 7 's office, the intangible became evident. How the office is organized/built (the built environment) effects the overall studio culture of the firm. To go further, the studio culture effects how people perceive going to work. To go even further, the studio culture and how people perceive going to work, effects the quality of output. (Output the services rendered to our consultants). Why does this matter?

The BAC - Winter '08 - History / Theory. Monday, January 21, 2008. Maybe she just wasn't interested in chit-chat. I can understand that - no one wants to find out the hard way that they are sitting next to a salesman on a long plane ride. Maybe she was really, really shy. Maybe she was afraid of me (just kidding! How have we gotten to a point where we live in neighborhoods where no one knows anyone else? Is largely fractured and doesn't seem to believe in America any longer! Does anyone have hot water?

History & Theory: January 2008
http://fgrob.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 21, 2008. I think some more brainstorming needs to happen. Knowing the history of Vegas and what was the reason for it starting might help me to better understand the local culture. I'm interested in "Boomburbs" also which is a term used to define Vegas. Any thoughts? Tuesday, January 8, 2008. I wonder what would happen if towns were to set codes as strict what would happen. Would it be embraced as much as Bedford has or would people reject the regulations? Thursday, January 3, 2008.

http://evr-bac-theory1.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Eric Randall's DMArch Architectural Theory - Winter 2008. Well said, Maggie. During my stumbling around doing research for my HTC paper, I ran across the following that I think helps sum up some of the things we've been discussing on the blogs, post intensive:. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead. So, who's in? Lions and Tigers and Bears! The study could take several approaches:. I don't believe...

Saturday, February 9, 2008. A Long Abstract. But it Works. You sir… your time starts now! So what is it about a third place that continually brings people back? With all of this being considered, how could a city or community be developed around a third place type of environment? Dang it… I went over. Chad R. Kohler. All I can say is "wow". The direction your paper has taken is really quite amazing. Hearing about your topic 3 weeks ago (has it been that long? February 9, 2008 at 7:50 PM. A Long Abstract&...

The Vita Activa: June 2010
http://thevitaactiva.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
A blog about architectural theory and, more importantly, about architectural purpose. Saturday, June 26, 2010. Caress the Detail, the Divine Detail. Writers obsess about something. We call our “voice.” On a simplistic level, the question can be phrased as “Does this writing sound like me? Next to grand conceptions like plot, which is the legitimate government of most stories, or character, which is the crowned sovereign, the detail looks like the ragged peasant with a half-baked idea of revolution and a ...
