An Unexpected Variety Show. Comedy, Kids and Rock'n'Roll. The crowd couldn’t get enough of Brisbane-based comedian Jenny Wynter’s tremendous tour de force. 8230;She burst onto the stage, completely owned her songs and ran with them. We went on a whirlwind ride on the Jenny Express and boy, what fun that was! Her hysterical German interpretation of Land Down Under has to be seen to be believed. Lena Nobuhara, Cabaret Confessional. Phillipe Perez, The AU Review. You’ll laugh and you’ll be inspired. 8220;Do...

Comedy, Improv and Everything In Between: 8 Weeks on Status
http://comedyandimprov.blogspot.com/2008/05/8-weeks-on-status.html
Tuesday, May 13, 2008. 8 Weeks on Status. So we've started an 8-week series of classes on status, which I have never really focused exclusively on before in a training sense. Of course, I've done the odd status game on stage, but it's usually ended up becoming a verbal 'one-upping' competition. I remember my good friend and former improv coach Anne telling me ages ago that "Keith Johnstone's chapter on status changed my life" and having just read it myself a month or so ago, I can see why! Staying positi...

Comedy, Improv and Everything In Between: Improv Feedback
http://comedyandimprov.blogspot.com/2008/04/improv-feedback.html
Sunday, April 20, 2008. I have to tell you, after this weekend just gone I am more in love with the Moose. Than ever. Be still my beating impulse. There's so much I want to spill about the way these guys do things, but I'm going to resist the urge to vomit it all out in one setting and try to at least bring a little focus to each of these blog entries. So I'm going to start with something I noticed first and foremost about working with these guys, that being the way that they give feedback. I wouldn't sa...

Comedy, Improv and Everything In Between: On Solo Improv
http://comedyandimprov.blogspot.com/2008/05/on-solo-improv.html
Thursday, May 22, 2008. There's a pretty kick-buttock looking workshop on solo improv going down in Chicago July 5 and 6, oh how I wish I could get there, but sadly flights are looking not as cheap as I need them to be. Besides, I've got lots of cool trips coming up this year so I shouldn't feel too sad. Butif you're interested in solo improv at all you should check out this fantastic article. Comedy, Improv and Everything In Between: April 2008
http://comedyandimprov.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2008. So last Saturday's training took two major focuses - one being 'to be positive', the other being 'Shakespearean improv'. I'm going to stick with my original plan here to remain focused and today talk about.da da da da da da! Loose Moose especially places a huge focus on trying to start - and where possible, keep - every improv on a positive note. My personal feeling on this is that this is because:. A) it's much more pleasant to watch people having a good time on-stage; and.
