Michelle's MFA at Lesley University. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Remember how I said when I paint representationally, I tend to get really tight and detailed? Yeah that happened. I call it Dumpling. This is about 55" x 40" and done with gouache, soft pastel, water-soluble pastel, acrylic, and a tiny bit of collage. I think this piece is about categories and associations. What is natural, what is unnatural? What is human, what is animal? What is edible, what is inedible? What is attractive, what is repulsive?
