Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Whenever the liberation of women was welcomed as a goal, it came as a top-down decree. According to Kathleen Sheldon, author of. Pounders of Grain: A History of Women, Work, and Politics in Mozambique. These proclamations were usually stated “without benefit of a woman's movement in society” (Sheldon 117). Deirdre: Democracy for Deirdre
http://adpmdeirdrek.blogspot.com/2009/09/democracy-for-deirdre.html
Wednesday, September 23, 2009. What I find interesting about discussing democracy is how arbitrary the term actually is when you seek to define it. How do you define an idea (or an ideal, for that matter), especially one as multifaceted as democracy? I suppose to start one must think “what does democracy mean to. Then venture from there. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Only now, since I've been home for a week or so, have I been able to really articulate my feelings or describe my observations. When people ask, How was the trip? I never can really say. Of course it was amazing, but to just say that doesn't tell anyone how the trip really. What is my election day story? I'm sure life (and careers) become just a little harder for that individual. At least that's the impression I got at Eduardo Mondlane. Tuesday, November 10, 2009. And that e...

Minhas aventuras em Moçambique. Monday, August 24, 2009. Welcome to my Mozambique blog! Last evening was our first class meeting where we were treated to an authentic dinner at Dr. Reid's home at the Park Shelton. His warm smile and personality is truly remarkable! Goat Light Soup and Bread Rolls. White Yams and Boiled Eggs. Ds wreakin...

JOHANNESBURG — President. The alacrity with which the g...

Landing in South Africa was not very different than landing in Detroit Metropolitan airport. The airport was modern with nice shops and easy access to transportation. See can we miss the pedestrian. Jimmy promised us that we would see the. Of a ...
