A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. Rutenbrock, my K. A small arm fracture and panzer lenkung combine quite well. And I can climb in and single handed pretty easy. On the open roads I could unleash the pedaling fury and take advantage of the supreme handling. The route to Rutenbrock is pretty fast. I got to try out the best looking Evo S. The actual event was a highlight, like every year. Too hot for many and I also wouldn't have lasted an hour in that heat. I did...One t...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. A common question nowadays seems to be: 'Should I buy a Wim or a Sinner hood? My answer is: neither of those. Not because they don't fit an Evo K, my VM. Doesn't need one to beat most of the competion, but because I see some serious drawbacks that are not mentioned enough. Yes, I have a special hood too, the Darth Vader one, but I only use it when I have a lot of room to gallop. Because, in my opinion, a hood should work when the it's r...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. A Thijs 222 Revolver. I've been riding recumbents for about 12 years now. And for 7-8 years now, that's been good for about 14.000km per year. That had a noticeable effect on my legs and stamina. My arms however. And since than, I row. That same evening I rowed to work. The ride back home wasn't 4km, but 9. And it was almost 2am. The 40km I rowed on Monday was a bit too much. But the weather was much better than expected. On Tue...The h...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. Groningen' didn't go so well. The K's chain kept dropping due to the bumpy track. And those bumps made it difficult to go fast anyway. 'LEL' went without technical difficulties. There I was slow because the engine suffered from milage. So I started to have doubts. Was I still quite fast? In a 5 minute warm-up I test every gear and ride around at a moderate pace. The bike feels right, now lets see what the engine can do today. I try to r...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. 1 year of Evo K. 7700km of joy and refining. In a years time I've:. Mounted softer springs, big improvement for feather weight me. Added chain tube, less noice and no oil on luggage. Added some foam, way less noise. More small, easy and cheap things. I think that the answers to most possible questions I can think of can be found using the search function on this blog. If not, post a comment! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 1 year of Evo K.

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. In my blog post about my Pioneer I mentioned it is almost stock. My Fuego is the opposite of that. I like tinkering, and probably have voided any possible warranty. That's also why there's only 1 chain ring at the front. Though when I replace the drive train later this year, I'll make it a double. That combined with the upgrade to a 10 speed 12-32 cassette will make it more suitable for vacations. And it's an opportunity to ...The resul...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. My Fuego doesn't accept anything over 30mm, and is built for basicly comfortable speed only. And because she's for the longer distances, I can life with a little less grip. The K has 3 wheels. A lack of grip grip hardly ever is a problem for me in a velomobile. Even on icy roads, slicks do the job, for me. I just brake a bit earlier. And velomobiles don't really work in more than about 4cm of snow anyway. This problem is the same for mo...

A place to read what I write about the things that have my interest. After a 3h ride, during which the only thing mentionable where giggling school girls or those giving sounds of approval, I arrived at the campsite in Dronten. There I was welcomed by 3 men from oversea and a few Dutch Velonauts. LeeW had arranged a chalet for him, me, Bill and Miles. That's luxury for a fair price. With pleasant things like a shower, kitchen and indoor VM parking. In the time that LeeW ate his fries and a burger, Bill a...
