I graduated from college in 1998, got my first real job and started slacking in the exercise department. Add two kids and a few extra pounds and I was unhappy. In November 2006 I started running again as a way to shed some weight and get some much-needed "me time". And now I am back in school to pursue a career in nursing. Here's my journey.

Heart of a runner, body of a mother. Friday, October 31, 2008. I'll rest when I'm dead. I haven't been very good at getting enough sleep lately. I spent a total of seven hours over three days staining our deck before the rain arrived this evening. That combined with going to class for hours on Tuesday and today, taking care of the kids and all the other random chores I need to do have really taken their toll on me. I am just exhausted! Heart of a runner, body of a mother. Monday, September 21, 2009. Wednesday is the big day. The day I start my new job as a medical technician, that is! I go in tomorrow to fill out a few employee papers and watch a new employee video. Then my first official shift starts at 6 am Wednesday. I don't know how I will sleep the night before! I just finished a great and fabulous 10 mile run. Now don't get the idea that my time was great, because clearly it wasn't. However, 4 miles into my run, I started crying. Why? I just spent about 5 minutes trying to 'strike through' the word "ONLY", as in I "ONLY" ran 15.32 miles this week.
