What is a Midwife. A certified nurse-midwives is an advanced practice nurse who specialized education and training in both Nursing and Midwifery. In Texas Certified Nurse-Midwives, are required to possess a minimum of a Masters degree. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwives must also be a licensed registered nurse.
