It seems that every time we travel to "Rubbertown", where we used to live, something inevitably happens. I guess that's to be expected when you travel three or more hours on a bumpy dirt road. M and K and our little "MK"s. Thursday, September 10, 2009. The difference a place makes. A strip of fly paper after one day. I think our record was killing five flies with one swat. Secondly, living on a dirt road meant that our house was always dusty. I would dust in the morning and by the afternoon I could write my name (or Emily's) in the dust. Here in Soytown 95% of the roads are paved, almost eliminating both flies and dust. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. I'm hoping I'll be more motivated with a blog.

M and K and our little "MK"s. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Well, sort of. We arrived in Brazil a few weeks ago and have been settling in again in Soytown. We really enjoyed the last 6 months in the States, but there was definitely a transitional, non-permanent feel to it. Not that I'm complaining. I think we have the best job in the world, even if it means moving and traveling a lot. Mike and I counted that we had lived in eight different cities by the time we were married five years! Dallas, TX (6 months).
