takeoff speed: August 2015
http://takeoffspeed.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Utah Adventure 2015: Outbound! On Friday the 7th, DS and I departed on the outbound leg of the great Utah Adventure (2015 edition)! Several months ago DS got his instrument rating, so we planned to file an IFR flight plan this time. Our planned route was:. CYTZ Toronto City Centre - K3CM Bay City, MI (US Customs) - KFSD Sioux Falls, SD - KCPR Casper, WY (overnight) - KLGU Logan, UT. As we have discovered, though, nothing ever goes as planned - particularly the weather! Difficult...

takeoff speed: January 2015
http://takeoffspeed.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Lesson three (more ascents/descents, some turns). I knew my weather luck could not last - yesterday's lesson was cancelled. Boo! Instead, I dropped by the airport for an hour to get some ground briefing in (basically a review of the relevant air exercises in the Flight Training Manual). On the bright side, I got two days of flying in a row this week! The NTSB has preliminary information. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. February 7), Around the Bay. 30k, March 29), and the Ottawa Mar...

http://takeoffspeed.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 28, 2014. Casual test of the FR220 accelerometer. You can see where the treadmill reset, and some odd anomalous cadence points elsewhere as well. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. The Runner's World Winter 2014 Run Streak. Starts tomorrow. At least one mile per day, every day, from (US) Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. I will be posting my weekly progress here - hoping I can manage to keep it up during the holiday travel driving days. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

takeoff speed: Pride & Remembrance Run (5k)
http://takeoffspeed.blogspot.com/2015/06/pride-remembrance-run-5k.html
Saturday, June 27, 2015. Pride and Remembrance Run (5k). This was a nice fun 5k. Rainbows everywhere! Kit pickup was at the Runner's Shop on Bloor earlier this week. The race kit included a t-shirt and a running cap with this year's design (the little rainbow runners), and a pair of sunglasses:. The starting time was a very civilized 10am - none of this 8am crap! Veggie pizza, risotto fritters, and little dessert tasting plates! Also drink tickets for beer! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

takeoff speed: first solo!
http://takeoffspeed.blogspot.com/2015/07/first-solo.html
Thursday, July 2, 2015. During the last lesson (on 6/18, which I didn't separately blog) I had 4 kind of suboptimal circuits, using the nasty skinny runway. My airspeed management was not great, so I was grumpy with myself. But, I was definitely in need of more practice on that runway, and I got it. OK. Etc, etc). Wheee. Edit: I almost forgot the beer! Lancaster Bomber. Totally appropriate for celebrating soloing in a Cessna 172. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
