http://weedingforgodot.blogspot.com/2015/05/householding-updates-may-28-2015.html
The Ups and Downs of Learning How to Buck the Consumer Economy. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Householding Updates - May 28, 2015. Some updates from around the homestead, such as it is:. Fresh pork belly waiting to be smoked. There's also a guanciale and prosciutto-cured sirloin in there but they do not get smoked. The smoker I rigged for the bacon smoking. It worked great, and I'll use it again. This is blackberry leaf from the park. These are the sugar pod peas, and I think I'm finally getting peas. And that...

Weeding for Godot: December 2014
http://weedingforgodot.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
The Ups and Downs of Learning How to Buck the Consumer Economy. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. I Can Do It - 2015. You know that I only post when I have some sort of progress to report, right? Well, we don't have too much going on homestead-wise right now, although we did earn the supreme compliment from my SIL who told me that we were "the most homesteady people" she knows. Which made me feel really good, although I know in my heart of hearts that we could probably be doing a lot more. I'll keep you post...

Six Roosters Farm: Concrete Day! (Update)
http://sixroostersfarm.blogspot.com/2013/12/concrete-update.html
Tuesday, December 10, 2013. So the concrete appears to have gone in quite well. They got it in fast while the greenhouse was still relatively warm due to the aforementioned sunshine. Cure time is still a concern, as the sun went down a little after 5pm and the temperature dropped quickly afterwards. but it's all in and it looks pretty level. Labels: Daily Progress Report. Capsand Creamery: 24 Karat Goat
http://capsandcreamery.blogspot.com/2014/06/24-karat-goat.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. I grew up in the 1980's. It was a fashionably tenuous decade, filled with puff bangs, scrunchies, banana barrettes, and Ogilvie home perms. And those were just a few interesting things one could choose to do with their hair. Clothing was equally outrageous, with accessories like bangle bracelets and hoop earrings proving that bigger was much better. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 2016 Nigerian Dwarf Kids. Carnage — Starving off the Land
http://starvingofftheland.com/2015/05/carnage
Starving off the Land. Figuring out first-hand food. May 19, 2015. If you’ve got livestock, you’ve got deadstock, is how my friend Jen, at Milkweed and Teasel,. Puts it. Losing animals is a part of keeping animals. You care for them and protect them the best you can, but disease, accidents, and predators will sometimes win. I know this. I’ve told myself this every time we’ve lost an animal. But this week was awful. Then, last Thursday, I came home to a disturbing scattering of brown feathers in the drive...

Cactus Catus: Bikes and Bows
http://ivoryfeathers.blogspot.com/2012/08/got-new-bike-today-finally.html
Spiny, drunken, foul-tempered felines, woo! Sunday, August 19, 2012. Got a new bike today - finally. I haven't ridden one in so long, years probably, so it was weird to just go out, buy one, and start riding again. But it still was a workout (for me especially because I'm way too out of shape) and it was really great biking around up to other neighborhoods with the view of the plains there. Slacking a little less. Anyway, yeah, life is average to good here. Just pretty uneventful. View my complete profile.
