Did you ever… | Wisdom comes in many misguided forms

Wisdom comes in many misguided forms. But what do I do with it? Did you ever…. 8220;My friend “L” wants to be a boy Mum,” Master six was telling me as I prepared dinner. 8220;Well I know she likes to wear shorts and t shirts but did she actually say that? 8221; I calmly asked him, knowing the quiet classmate he was referring to as she had been in his pre prep years as well. 8220;She’s a tomboy! 8221; his nine year old sister interjected, followed closely by “Weren’t YOU a tomboy mum? My younger sister wa...

Just because | Wisdom comes in many misguided forms
https://musingnmayhem.wordpress.com/2011/11/26/just-because
Wisdom comes in many misguided forms. But what do I do with it? In over sixteen years of parenting, I’ve never had to deal with a broken bone. Well there’s been a few broken toes over the years – but they were all mine. The children have however, remained intact. Until now. The eldest, whose tendancy to mouth off has found him at the wrong end of a few fists over the years. Nope. Nor was it my over-animated four-year old daredevil who’s one. Yep, ’twas him. Upon arrival to collect my middle male offsprin...

Notes on an Aria: Christmas Rainbow Baby Tutorial
http://notesonanaria.blogspot.com/2010/11/christmas-rainbow-baby-tutorial.html
Thursday, November 25, 2010. Christmas Rainbow Baby Tutorial. A couple of people have asked me how to make the little christmas babies in my last post, so I thought I'd attempt a tutorial. Here goes! With some skin coloured wool roving separate the section into 3 parts. One for the inside of the head, the outside and a small piece to tie around the neck. Tie one of the larger section in a loose knot to form the inside of the head. With some pink wool pull off three large sections. For the hat, use a pice...

Strickerin: I really suck at blogging these days
http://strickerin.blogspot.com/2010/11/i-really-suck-at-blogging-these-days.html
I really suck at blogging these days. Where has the time gone? Honestly this is ridiculous. My last post was in the holidays and now we are right at the end of term 4. We have been enjoying the warm, long days, all the yummy summer fruits and celebrating the lovely flowers in bloom. But no infection right now. That is the ear that tends to play up so we will keep an eye on it. I have finished breastfeeding now. My body had enough and it was getting to the point where I was just not getting enough eac...

Books beyond the pale. Egghead likes her booky books! Me and My Things. She has fallen and now she is awake. I’m so lucky. On February 6, 2011. But there’s a catch. I’m ‘lucky’ that Wolfman is such a good guy. Except that I went throught how many failed relationships and false starts and never starts because there was no fucking way I was going to partner with a misogynist douchewad. I’m ‘lucky’ he helps around the house and stays home. I’m ‘lucky’ I have a good job. Yet again, I worked hard because I kn...

Books beyond the pale. Egghead likes her booky books! Me and My Things. She has fallen and now she is awake. Mothering as an identity. On March 6, 2011. So, Jezebel strikes again. Remarkable bit of ignorance. (oh, I know it’s trying for humour, but it fails. Fails so hard.) To quote:. Jezebel chimes in with:. You can have more than one identity. And since when is acknowledging one’s parental status ‘basing your identity on someone else’? Good mother being one who is still as fuckable, likeable, entertain...

Life As We Know It: January 2011
http://journeybegins-phoenix.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
January 16, 2011. The first decade of the new millennium. One of my friends, Milkymumma. Wrote a blog post entitled the same. So here is my record of experiences. Started year 11 in Canberra. Skipped more classes then attended but found a passion in Photography. Left the security of my parents home and went looking for new adventures with less authority. Moved to Brisbane and in with my sister. My Great Aunt passed away and my Dad suggested I move to Mount Isa. I moved in with my Cousin and her family.

Where did the years go? | Wisdom comes in many misguided forms
https://musingnmayhem.wordpress.com/2011/12/06/where-did-the-years-go
Wisdom comes in many misguided forms. But what do I do with it? Where did the years go? Today is one of “. 8221; anniversaries. You know, the ones you are kind of glad you got to see but you’d have preferred. To have been on the journey to start with. Really. One of the ones you’d like to forget but it’s too. Positives I’ve discovered having been on this path coloured with more than a. Negatives. However, I’m sure. I’m a much better person for it. Well that’s. The first time I had ever. Something to appr...
