At some point it became part of my spiel to ask adolescents what they want to do with their lives, even though it probably isn’t of great interest to judges or ADAs. I think actually I used to talk to younger kids about this in other jobs where I dealt with them just because I had run out of other things to ask them.*. At the thought of a lifetime in maintenance.

What Do Mixed Feelings Look Like? Public opinion polls traditionally ask people whether they feel positive. About an issue agree or disagree, approve or disapprove. Yet researchers have long acknowledged that people can have both positive and negative feelings about an issue. In other words, people can have mixed feelings. A traditional scale would ask you to place your feelings on a scale from negative to positive. There's no way express mixed feelings on a traditional scale.
