Maryann and the kitchen table. My journey of creating memorable meals for my family – one recipe at a time. April 30, 2012. Menu Planning for the week of 4/29 – 5/5. Posted in budget friendly. At 12:52 pm by Maryann. Well this past week was just plain busy. Our house was full of sickies including myself and milestones. All in all it was an okay week. This week seems to be off to a great start. How’s your menu planning going? Kids weekend with the grandparents – Pool Day! Slow Cooker Pot Roast. Homemade c...

Maryann and the kitchen table. My journey of creating memorable meals for my family – one recipe at a time. May 5, 2012. We miss you…San Diego. At 5:21 pm by Maryann. Our family LOVES San Diego. It is a place that is always sunny, has lots of beaches, and tons of great family activities. I am blessed to have family in San Diego. So that makes San Diego even better! Kauai instead of San Diego? 2 pounds flank or skirt steak. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. 4 garlic cloves, minced. Cheddar chee...

You don't have to be a professional chef to cook tasty meals. Basil Pesto Chicken Pasta with Asparagus and Sundried Tomatoes. Now… say that 10x’s fast! This was a fabulous dish to say the least. Nothing is better than fresh basil pesto, asparagus, and pasta on a well-weathered Bay Area day! I sure wish I had some to warm up right now…). 8216;Twas a good selection is what I interpreted from the “babe, this is good! Something about green food is just not appealing to kids. We will be making again! 1/2 cup ...

You don't have to be a professional chef to cook tasty meals. Baked Ziti is one of those “comfort food” type dishes for me that when I make this for dinner, I can literally eat this all day long! I personally like my cheese baked a little longer creating that delicious smoked-type cheese flavor. Not to mention the top layer of crispy noodles that result as an innocent by-product. If you are an “edge” eater, I highly recommend letting it hang out a little longer in the oven. Yes, yes, yes! Toss the cooked...

You don't have to be a professional chef to cook tasty meals. Thyme Seasoned Green Beans with Tomatoes. Green beans are a vegetable that I could eat all day long, next to broccoli. When I was younger, steamed green beans with soy sauce and fresh lemon were a favorite of mine! But I still put it on their plates as they will still rip the beans open and eat the actual beans inside. I call it positive progression, hah. Ingredients have been approximated. My best advice is to add seasonings to taste. 1 table...

You don't have to be a professional chef to cook tasty meals. All I can say is… where has this recipe been all my life? This dish has AMAZING flavor! Those chipotle peppers in adobo sauce really do bring out the wow factor – and I mean WOW, WOW, WOW! Served this with some warmed up pinto beans, but one could easily use black beans. If there is one recipe that needs to be added to your list of things to cook, by golly, this is the one! Used one chipotle pepper in adobo sauce (kid-friendly). Heat 1 tablesp...

You don't have to be a professional chef to cook tasty meals. Morning times go by so fast for us that I’ll hardly ever make time for a breakfast that requires more effort than microwaving, toasting, scrambling eggs, or ready-made waffle/pancake mixes… there’s my morning secret. But for this past week, I’ve been wanting to challenge my morning cooking ritual to infuse something different. This was also a great way to get the kids in the kitchen to help! I sliced the butter thin rather than grating. 1 Tabl...

A LIFE and STYLE BLOG. August 11, 2015. Apart from the date night red, I tend to wear a lot of pinks during the summertime. Light pinks are flattering and easy to wear with a lot of summer outfits, especially since pink is such a complimentary color. I've been rotating with the above three pretty regularly so I thought I'd share on the blog! TORY BURCH Pas Du Tout. Tory Burch's lipsticks are beautiful, not just for the colors but also for the packaging {seriously, check it out! If only they would last ju...
