The Journey Through My First Year Teaching. Third Week of Third Term. How do you get over the feeling of absolute failure? This is wearing on me. Day after day after day. I'm giving 125% and getting back 3%. It isn't necessarily one thing that gets me, it's everything put together that just breaks me down slowly. I feel like a failure. I'm struggling with lesson planning and dealing with the feeling that no matter how I try the students aren't learning. Go out with friends at least every other weekend.

The Journey Through My First Year Teaching. Today was the first day I barely prepared for class. And I felt okay about it. I was no longer freaking out about being overly prepared, I had a basic idea for what I wanted to do and then I put down the computer. And I did what I wanted to do in. Time You know, the time that I'm not paid to do work (but usually I do work anyway to be prepared to go to work). It was surprisingly freeing. Focus more on the students. Try to enjoy it, even just a little bit.
