Worst Vegetarian Ever: March 2011
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Ok so New Mexican cuisine isn't exactly the same thing. (If anything it's a little bit more interesting with the influence of the Native Americans.) But when my dad came back from a recent trip to New Mexico with a stash of dried New Mexican chiles, I jumped at the chance to try something truly authentic. And they're just so pretty. Naturally pretty food almost always tastes good in my experience. A few tablespoons olive oil. A few tablespoons apple cider vinegar. After eating my...

Worst Vegetarian Ever: May 2010
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 28, 2010. So I Turned 25 Recently. (Part 1). I'm really glad my family "gets" me. Thursday, May 27, 2010. The picture's not great, but that is a veggie burger. At a baseball game. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. As I write my resignation letter to my office today, I would like to share the news with you as well. While I will not be resigning my post as "The Worst Vegetarian Ever," I will be leaving Philly and its fabulous and unique foodie culture behind as I embark on the next chapter of my life.

Worst Vegetarian Ever: Virginia is for eaters!
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2011/02/virginia-is-for-eaters.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Virginia is for eaters! 1 Southerners know a thing or two about comfort food. I live a block from a humble roadside stand with some truly legendary fried chicken. Philly might have scrapple but we've got pimento cheese. Oh and how did I not know about collard greens? 2 It's locavore's paradise. Attracted national attention in the movie Food, Inc. Is the best I've ever had. All the tofu and apples I've been eating cancel out the fried chicken right? Besides the aforementioned...

Worst Vegetarian Ever: In Case You Were Wondering...
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2011/02/in-case-you-were-wondering.html
Saturday, February 19, 2011. In Case You Were Wondering. Avocado and grapefruit do not taste good together, I don't care what Ina Garten says. So here's the story. (Because there's always a story.) Inspired by a recent shipment of those heavenly grapefruits I told you about. A while back, I decided to get creative. There's only so many grapefruits a girl can eat for breakfast you know. What is jicama you ask? 1 large grapefruit, peeled and segmented, with its juice. 1 avocado, diced. Splash of lime juice.

Worst Vegetarian Ever: On Food and Cooking
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2010/07/on-food-and-cooking.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. On Food and Cooking. Hardcore foodies will recognize the title as the book by Harold McGee (I recently acquired a practically free copy that was to be discarded by a public library), but it is a pretty accurate description of what the past couple of weeks have been like for me. On second there are kids in attendance and a cheesecake might be more kid-friendly. Of course I'll make a blueberry coulis to go on top. So here I am currently, putting off going to the grocery store beca...

Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Thanksgiving: A Betty's Bargain? This year I was unable to venture home with Mama and Papa McBricker due to the restraints of work at the stone query; but I was able to take the day to cook my first thanksgiving dinner with the help of Barney. And it turned out to be a Betty's Bargain. Can you believe it? Here is the what we had and the bargains I found:. Turkey before it was in the oven. I got that 11 pound turkey for. $5. Worst Vegetarian Ever: Life is like a box of...?
http://worstvegetarianever.blogspot.com/2010/03/life-is-like-box-of.html
Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Life is like a box of? When a mystery package arrived from my grandmother out in AZ it had my coworkers and I shaking our heads. Whenever I get a package from my relatives I think of Forest Gump and the box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. We were only slightly less confused once we opened the box and discovered 6 giant fruits staring back at us. We stared right back. We determined it was definitely in the citrus family. I managed to put one aside for myself...

Worst Vegetarian Ever: April 2011

Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Caldo Verde Minus the Caldo. A few big handfuls kale, washed and chopped with the stems removed. Half a white or yellow onion, diced. 2 links of mexican chorizo or hot italian sausage (or the veg version). 1/2 cup of frozen corn. 1/2 can of white, black or kidney beans, rinsed and drained. 1 cup white wine or chicken stock. When the sausage and onions start to brown add the rest of the ingredients except for the corn and turn the heat up to medium high. After eating my way thro...
