The two rows below are from the installation show "Connections" where I worked with students on in three high schools, two New England schools and one from Santa Rosa CA. What you see are individual sculptures that where screwed to vertical wall 40' high in the Leslie University Student Union. The lower right is from my own classroom. Each sculpture is approximately 10" in height. The third and fourth row are works made of expanding foam, wire, spray paint, and various other materials, it hangs.

Backward Currency. The images of cheap desire.money. They are all approximately 24-30 inches or smaller and through finishing processes have an archival value. Lost in this kind of computer viewing are the surface textures, the transparent and opaque brushwork painted surfaces, and the rough visceral cardboard material that seems proud to support the banknote image portrayed upon it. Nick graduated from Sonoma State University in 1983 with a BA in Art, emphasis in Painting and minor in Spanish. He attended The San Francisco Art Institute completing a BFA in Painting in 1985. As a once house painter and carpenter he expanded his skill-base until the time he was able to shift his career through higher education to teaching high school Spanish, English and Art for the past 16 years. Nick has been married since 1989 and has two daughters. 1985 - BFA Painting, San Francisco Art Institute.

These figurative and abstract works are all constructed using wood, plaster, cement, wire, found objects, glued together using expanding foam and painted with spray, acrylic, or latex paint.
