Thursday, January 28, 2010. For starters, a little bit of revision to my question from last time with help from a few classmates. Maybe it's a little bit closer to where it needs to be now? How can an interactive system using various mediums help middle school students across the globe learn about one another, embrace cultural differences and create new and unlikely friendships? How does a hand-written letter compare to an e-mail? What if they just exchanged pictures? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, December 4, 2009. Or: www.aliciarosas.com. Because of the nature of the timeline and horizontal scrolling, I had to find an easy way for the user to go navigate through it: hopefully visitors can do that without too much work because of the "hot spots" on the left and right. I'm proud of the fact that I got as much figured out as I did! Alicia, to begin with, I think you did a great job in getting this to work, you made to the top of the mountain (with banana peel shoes! Also, if you can, customi...

Thursday, January 29, 2009. Info Arch: Seashell Sorting. For our first assignment, I decided to go with my seashell collection! Here are categories I plan on trying to sort them in:. L: Areas where the shells can typically be found. A: Different classes of shells - maybe identify each one? From there, the groups or individual shells can be alphabetized. T: The original animal's average lifespan. C: Classified by texture/pattern. H: Comparison of shell sizes, big to small. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thursday, September 17, 2009. Multimedia experience: poster and community concepts. Along with some of our initial ideas about how our community can help out storm chasers. A way to gain weather information without hassling the National Weather Service. Storm chasers with appropriate equipment and skill can gain this information and send it to the website (via laptop or phone) for others to access, steering traffic away from the NWS. A way to avoid interfering with other spotters during a chase. Multimed...

Alicia Rosas: multimedia experience: rapid prototypes
http://aliciarosas.blogspot.com/2009/11/multimedia-experience-rapid-prototypes.html
Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Multimedia experience: rapid prototypes. My first idea was essentially a pan and zoom idea. The user would start out with a large overview of the work where everything would be zoomed out. Here, they would see all of the work laid out next to each other in tiny images. They could use the ability to zoom in to view the work at a larger scale (and hopefully less yucky image quality). The layers can be turned on and off- if you just wanted to see process (or in this case, turtl...
