I'm Vegan, and Therefore Cooler Than You: Uncertainty
http://vegancooler.blogspot.com/2009/08/uncertainty.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Another reason for my lack of postings is that I'm trying to get over to Korea myself. The Army has programs that do spouses to go over. We've been going through all the required steps and should have an approval or denial in a few weeks. If I do get to go over, it's going to open a whole new culinary world! I've been trying to increase my tolerance for spicy foods, as Rob tells me everything is HOT over there! August 6, 2009 at 11:26 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

I'm Vegan, and Therefore Cooler Than You: I'm a little bit angry...
http://vegancooler.blogspot.com/2009/03/im-little-bit-angry.html
Monday, March 23, 2009. I'm a little bit angry. I am really sick of seeing these STUPID high-fructose corn syrup commercials! Some well-meaning woman/man/child tries to stop another from eating a food containing HFCS, but when the other person rebuts the argument, this naive person can't come up with a single bad thing to say about this sticky substance. Gee, let's all live in Wonderland and not think about the evils of this crap! It's fine in moderation! HFCS is a way to lower food costs! I do not eat a...

speccy perspectives: July 2008

Saturday, July 26, 2008. How beautiful the world can be. Posted by laura k. Friday, July 04, 2008. Protruding from the wiry, spindly brush. With skin pulled tight like the head of a drum. Encasing sweet, warm droplets of sun-ripe. Ruddy juice- delicate and plump, teasing,. Drawing a covetous gaze as velvet. Tempts you to graze it with your hand or cheek. Dark with soft, placating sheen collecting. All energy and light like small black holes. Of deep summer, they ensnare and transfix. Posted by laura k.

speccy perspectives: March 2008
http://speccyspec.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 25, 2008. My beating heart before me marched. With meticulous measured meter. And the pregnant palpitationis ruptured. The membrane of my heart. Like an overripe tomato. Made sick by too much sun. Dangling in the fabric of everything. I saw the sloshing stars. My heart could not contain. And splashing it across unending lifetimes. Like a sword slit across my throat. And it slid across my lips. Where the wind whirled it away. An ocean and a world away. To strike an unfurling tendril.

Vegan Family Dinners: Papa's Day
http://veganfamilydinners.blogspot.com/2008/06/papas-day.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. Happy belated Father's Day to all the dad, daddas, papas, fathers, grandfathers, pops, etc, etc. We had a very simple Father's Day, consisting of breakfast in bed, followed by a warm day at the beach. Keith was treated to scrambled tofu (made with silken tofu, 'cause that's how he likes it), fresh fruit, and jam-filled mochi (my new favorite treat, from this. More to come soon. our neighborhood is great. the local Italian shop sells handmade, organic vegan ravioli! The Little Mama ...

Vegan*asm: New year, same me
http://veganasm.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-year-same-me.html
Wednesday, January 09, 2008. New year, same me. First, the non-meat loaf, made with beef style TVP, sauteed carrots, celery, onions, and garlic with herbs, nooch, breadcrumbs, and ketchup. Glazed with yummy tomato-lemon preserves I picked up from the farmers market the weekend before. Looks just like the loaf of my childhood. This was one of the best brunches ever. I can't wait to go back and try the other amazing food they offer. Here is the birthday girl (middle) with her Nanny and Lovely Lady in front...
