Although the fuel system on Ali’s and Joseph’s scooter seems to be temperamental causing them to suddenly stop from time to time, we eventually make it out of town. As we putter north, we finally discover the Bali I have imagined. The Bali portrayed in movies. The beautiful Bali hordes come here to experience. This man has a great sense of balance, don’t you think? One of the many beautiful terraced rice fields we found.

For us, the tiny island of Gili Trawangan, Indonesia is such a place. The view of Amed as we were leaving. It sure is pretty from the water! Horse drawn carts transport people and goods all over the island. Everything must be brought to the island by boat, including water and tequila! It is such a laid-back place that even this security guard at the ATM is barefooted!
