Such is the Life of a Military Wife. Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. I can hardly believe another Christmas has come and gone and that I was lucky enough to spend it with soldier and my family. I wish leave was longer. Sent from my Verizon Wireless mobile phone. Thursday, December 23, 2010. Amazing how those 3 little words from soldier can make me so happy! Saturday, December 18, 2010. Craft Project: Burlap Wreath. Just a little burlap. And woven onto a wire hanger. Sent from my...

Such is the Life of a Military Wife. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. I also hope he gets this job for some more stability. I have a career and pull in a decent salary now, but I'm too nervous to buy a house on my salary alone because I work in the social service field and with the economy what it is, programs are losing funding. (That's a whole other post! Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Baby on His Mind. Sunday, July 25, 2010. I feel like all I've been doing is packing lately. I packed last weekend to visit my in...

Such is the Life of a Military Wife. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Since I've Been Gone. I knew it had been awhile since my last blog but I didn't realize just how long! Yikes What have I been up to since March? Soldier came home on schedule. Soldier got a new job. Soldier was gone A LOT this spring for flood duty. I was gone A LOT this summer for work – you can tell everyone got new budgets this year, conferences galore. Ran a 10K- next time I'll train a little more ;). Just kidding, I love my sisters.

The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Rediculous! Sunday, November 22, 2009. Crying so hard I can hardly breathe. All my whining and crying finally paid off, and my parents agreed that we could get the dog. I was ECSTATIC! So that was the day we got Otis. It still feels like yesterday. Hard to believe it was 17 years ago. Little did we know he'd live such a long and full life with our family! When I called my parents tonight, they said they've talked it over and tomorrow they are making the painful decis...

*The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Rediculous!*: April 2009
http://betsyhunt.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Rediculous! Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Blah blah blah. That's how I feel today! Well, as I write this my daughter is running around getting into everything and I have absolutely no energy to get up and chase after her! Needless to say, I've gotten nothing accomplished today, except for caring for my little Alyson! She's eating and drinking ok, and doesn't have a fever as of yet (and hopefully she DOESN'T get one! 8 weeks went by pretty fast! We're supposed to do lunch...

Vivien... Interrupted: September 2011

Friday, September 30, 2011. Retirement On My Mind. This week, my husband received his retirement orders. In eleven months, he will be just a regular civilian. I’ll be honest- I can’t wait! I am insanely happy! Not to mention the hardships. The physical and emotional toll the Army takes on a person. Instability in the family life is one of the smaller evils. Working under the threat to your own life and the lives of the people around you is something very few people would choose to do. No human is without...

http://betsyhunt.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Rediculous! Thursday, November 27, 2008. Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and filled your bellies with turkey and all kinds of yummy things! Me, I'm STILL full from about 5pm. I enjoyed lots of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc etc. I think I ate enough food to last me through the weekend. Ugh I felt like I was sitting there twiddling my thumbs trying to think of things to say. I mean, what do you say to people you really haven...

Devin’s story – the unabridged version | The Dish from Trish

The Dish from Trish. Working mom, Resourceful chef, Penny Pincher, Weekend Crafter, Saucy Minx. Laquo; Winner, winner. Devin’s story – the unabridged version. If I’m going to do Devin’s birth story any justice, I really have to start the tale three weeks before she was born. Google bleeding gums. Because the internet will tell you that your child has leukemia. Not like, serious ones. I chalked them up to Braxton-Hicks, which come on strong when moms get dehydrated. (And dehydrated I was, despite ...So, w...

A collision of first and lasts - in these small momentsin these small moments

A collision of first and lasts. August 21, 2014. Middot; letter to Katie. My sweet Katie,. Tonight I plugged the drain of my bathtub, squirted in a healthy dose of bubble bath, turned the not-too-hot water on and lined your Polly Pockets up on the edge of the tub. This was probably the millionth bath you’ve taken in your seven years. It seems that so much of mothering is focused on all of the firsts. First smile, first steps, first words, first day of school. Those days with you seemed so much slower.
