Meme because why not. A real carnage rodeo. Richard Kadrey, Aloha from Hell. In other news, Im still looking for work. I was actually offered a job as an emergency operator but they specifically wanted to cover overnights and weekends, and if you screw that job up, people die. Long story short, if youre losing sleep over a job before you start, its most likely not the job for you. I have some causal work coming up through a few sources, but things are starting to get a bit tight. Post a new comment.

State of the Me. So I missed my birthday. This year. Missed my birthday entirely by over a week. Oops. :P. Its been a bit of a crummy couple of months in a lot of ways. I finished at the Library at the end of September. Funding just dried up, and I was on a short term contract. I had a bit of money stashed, but its gone now. S burlesque troupe, Va Va Boombah. Have their second performance tomorrow night. Ive helped make some of the costumes, and it was great fun! Ive really enjoyed making.

Friday, January 8th, 2010. It's a centred hexagonal number. The thirty-seventh Psalm is an acrostic. Shakespeare wrote thirty seven plays. 37×3 is 111; 37×6 is 222; and so on. 37×18 is 666. 3×7×37 = three 7's (777). 37 AD - Tiberius dies and Caligula becomes Roman emperor. There's some sort of Kevin Smith connection too, I believe. Birthday time. Here's hoping this year's better than the last.

Saturday, January 10th, 2009. The Egyptians believed there were thirty-six Decans, or Gods of the Ten Degrees, who each ruled ten degrees of sky. They play heavily into Rats and Gargoyles. One of my favourite novels. In Maori myth, 36 gods made the first human that Tane then breathed life into. The Midrash tells us that the first light of creation shone for 36 hours, before God created the sun. There are also, in every generation, the thirty-six Tzadikim. It's also my age, as of last Thursday.

The last few weeks. So Ive had an interesting few weeks. On my birthday, I had a job interview. They said I wouldnt hear before the 20th, but the called at about 3pm to offer me the gig! I also got some cash, which contributed to getting myself a Galaxy Note 8. Its a great fun little thing - smaller than an ipad, but big enough to be find for reading/comics/watching vids. I like the stylus too, and the handwriting recognition is pretty good. I also had birthday wishes from John Rozum. The Va Va Boombah.

A friend who volunteers for a local theatre told me they needed cleanup crew for Evil Dead the Musical. I foolishly signed up. At that point the volunteers are sent home. Saturday was an early start, as the boat was to depart at 8:00 am and there were several admonishments to be on time or be left behind. I was sailing with the Oceanic Society and they do put together a good trip. The naturalist was both knowledgable and fun. I heard whales breathing, which is one of my new favourite sounds.
