Actual) Day Seven: KMMV to KRNO. Route: McMinnville, OR KMMV to Reno Tahoe International Airport KRNO. Approx. 373 Miles. A little over 3 hours. Fuel burned: Approx. 38 gallons. Crew Car had master battery switch. Evergreen Air Museum. Spruce Goose was incredible. In the cockpit. At the controls. View out of the cockpit window. Dave at the controls. Len at the controls. Where wing attaches to fuse. Back at McMinnville ready to head south east. Len angling for a better parking spot at Reno.

Actual) Day Eight: Reno Air Races. Left out Saturday morning to head up to Stead for the races. Perfect day. Clear skies and if you could find some shade very comfortable. We got around to everything we wanted to see and watched a couple of races then headed out for a cool drive to Lake Tahoe. We ended up at Jason's on Kings Beach for an early dinner. We plan to head out early in the morning. Not sure where to yet. Rare Bear with the cowl off. September Pops. Unlimited Category. Back to Home Page.

Actual) Day Five: KAVX to KSTS. Catalina Island, CA KAVX to Santa Rosa, CA KSTS. Filed IFR flight plan. Most of the flight was clear as a bell until we got about 40 miles south of Santa Rosa. Solid cloud cover till we broke out at about 1500 feet. Dave flew the approach perfectly. Looking forward to the Spruce Goose and Reno. On the way back to Airport in the Sky from Avalon on Catalina Island, CA. On the ramp KAVX. Catalina Island, CA. Looking off the west end of the runway out to sea. Back to Home Page.
