Itchy Feet Take Me To. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. Gorillas in the Mist: Blinding You with Science! So what do I know about Physics? However, an interesting factoid is that if you stand at the equator at midday during the equinox there is no shadow. A quick stop to pick up some charcoal from one of many sellers on the roadside and some veggies afforded me with the opportunity to try some fresh jackfruit for a good dose of B vitamins. Itchy Feet Take Me To...: ... Gorillas in the Mist: King of the Jungle

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Thursday, 29 January 2015. Gorillas in the Mist: King of the Jungle. My alarm went off at 425am. Doesn't that sound like fun! It's rather disgusting waking up with a pool of sweat in your suprasternal notch. Habituation has been taking place for a long time - it allowed scientists to study them. Then of course someone had the bright idea of charging tourists, like me, $500USD a pop to take part in viewing them in the wild. Is this a good thing? It was admittedly a little bit overwh...

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Tuesday, 3 February 2015. Gorillas in the Mist: Karma Chameleon. How does a country expecting hundreds (thousands? Coming across its borders from anywhere and everywhere try to keep itself safe from Ebola? It takes their temperature! By employing “thermal scanners” at each border crossing, they hope “to detect elevated body temperatures and possible infectious diseases.". And I woke this morning still feeling like crap. Great! Hmmm Where do they stick these things again? No Instead...

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Saturday, 21 May 2011. San Francisco: A Golden Girl, An Aphrodite. Can you feel me in stereo. Itchy feet were up bright and early this morning to drop das hund off for his early one-night check in at the Rex. And then it was straight to YVR to catch a quick flight with WestJet down to San Francisco for me. After feeling like I was being blown out of the sky as we approached SFO,. Traveling by the BART. System to Union Square in downtown San Francisco was quite literally a breeze.

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Friday, 7 February 2014. 1 a strong desire to travel. A person consumed by wanderlust". For those of you that perhaps missed the memo I have lived in Vancouver, Canada (pointing out the obvious but there's actually more than 1 Vancouver) for almost 14 years, with a lovely apartment that I've worked my arse off for and 3 jobs (two careers) that I absolutely love to be able to somewhat afford to live in said city and said apartment. One extra cost is my wanderlust. Come Fly With Me.

Itchy Feet Take Me To...: January 2012
http://itchyfeettakemeto.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Itchy Feet Take Me To. Monday, 2 January 2012. No matter how great an adventure you always feel kind of excited as the clouds break and you see familiar turf appear below you as you make your descent. For me it took:. One very strange row buddy who insisted on admiring himself in any reflective surface and taking up half of my personal space with his elbows. Two trips to Starbucks. it had to be done! An "is she dead or actually just sleeping? Having to queue at Agriculture for Customs with all my wood pr...

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Tuesday, 13 May 2014. Crouch With Tigers, Hide With Dragons: Pedal Pushing. During my time living in Vancouver if I haven't been running around it then I've been cycling around it. In my heyday I would clock around 120km per week, and whilst I don't get out as often these days I do love the feeling of cycling around a city. I'd read about a great hang out spot! Monday, 12 May 2014. Crouch Like Tigers, Hide Like Dragons: Tantalizing Tokyo. Customs was quick even with a security chec...

Itchy Feet Take Me To...: April 2012
http://itchyfeettakemeto.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Itchy Feet Take Me To. Saturday, 28 April 2012. With that in mind, I was pretty glad to be driving during daylight. Traffic police are everywhere speed-trapping and apparently give out hefty fines even if you're only as much as 10% over the speed limit. One might say it was a blessing in disguise that someone else was driving. *cough*. Upon arrival into Amman, my radar finally homed in on a Starbucks! I think I waddled out of the restaurant at the end of the evening. Another itch successfully scratched.

Itchy Feet Take Me To...: December 2011

Itchy Feet Take Me To. Saturday, 31 December 2011. Tanzania: Ending 2011 Itchy Feet Style! At approximately 20km wide, Ngorongoro crater is the World's largest intact volcanic caldera and one of Tanzania's most visited destinations primarily due to the fact it is one of Africa's best-known wildlife-viewing areas. Despite the steepness of the walls, there is an ever-present abundance of wildlife due to the permanent existence of Lake Magadi, the soda lake at the base of the crater. As the clock ticks down...
