Unless otherwise stated, most of my acrylic paintings are done on quality canvas that has been affixed to hardboard. They can be framed, matted and framed or simply displayed on easels. Here are some guidelines as to the handling of acrylic art:. Keep the acrylic painting out of direct sunlight or strong artificial light, as these will cause the paint to fade. I started painting on canvas's as well as cork board - I found I loved the way the oil paints soaked into the cork. Bulletin boards were my favorite - cork and they were already framed! I graduated to calendars for inspiration, as well as magazines and holiday cards. I painted away, believing I was a "natural" genius in art. I was not!
