Man of Fire | natessweetblog
https://natessweetblog.wordpress.com/2011/11/20/man-of-fire
Just another WordPress.com site. Jose Clemente Orozco;. 1938-9; Hospicio Cabanas, Guadalajara-. I think this is an astounding mural. It’s bold, powerful and dramatic. The artist’s minimalist use of colors (just shades of blue, grey and red) appeals to me as well. Clearly, this artist was at the top of his game. It’s no surprise that. And it’s surrounding fresco is considered by some to be the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. However, I also found. Https:/ www.msu.edu/user/hockettj/Orzcpap.htm. I really ...

The Environment | natessweetblog
https://natessweetblog.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/the-environment
Just another WordPress.com site. Over the past few decades, visual art has become an increasingly important medium in the promotion of environmental concerns, be they pollution, sustainability, over-consumption or extinction. The topics of environmental consciousness and sustainability are very important to me, so I chose to exhibit works that express these environmental concerns, particularly those that do so in unique and eye-opening ways. Mud-Graffiti by Jessi Graves. I really like all of Jessi Graves...

Just another WordPress.com site. Rembrandt’s “The Mill”. Rembrandt; “. 1645-8; Location Unknown. Rembrandt’s largest landscape painting, “. The visual impact these dark clouds have on the viewer is just too intense to be ignored; Rembrandt, being Rembrandt, must have known this. Maybe he wasn’t commenting on any great, world changing event or worry at all. Maybe this is a more personal piece; a reflection of inevitability, foreboding or doom in his own life at the time. Just another WordPress.com site. November 11, 2011. Recycle – to convert (waste) into reusable material. The first artist I chose is Tom Deininger, he is an East Coat artist born in 1970, widely regarded for making art out of “junk”. I really enjoyed looking at his art and could hardly believe what some of it was made of. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of every piece. Another of Deininger’s work I really found appealing was. By Tom Deininger was made out of plastic bags, sale stickers, and caution tape.

Non-Western Painting (Blog #8). Kobina Nyarko was born on March 14, 1972 in Takoradi, Ghana. Most of his childhood was sent with his father in the neighboring costal town of Cape Coast. He recalls being an obsessive 5-year old that “loved drawing more than eating.” His largely non-artist family though did not recognize his talent and were very much disinterested in his abilities, curbing any childhood aspirations that Nyarko may have had. 6 thoughts on “ Non-Western Painting (Blog #8). nate & stacy + 2
Nate and stacy 2. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Happy New Year to you from us! We spent the evening at Darin and Kyla's (new) house to ring in the new year. There was yummy food galore (even little crescent buns shaped to read "2015"), fun games like 7 wonders, ticket to ride, and the invention game, and awesome people to justify staying up till midnight. Then a handful of us stayed up until 2am, trying to chat coherently without our eyes going crossed. Wishing you all joy in the new year ahead of you :).
