Return to Brahmanpalli →. The rain lily doing its job and other developments in the garden. Some Golden yellow chrysanthemums are a wonder to behold in the sun. I’m having to hold myself back from writing cliches about their colour and the sun. In the balcony upstairs, the chili plant is flowering, and so is a self-seeding tomato. Terrace garden bliss in Hyderabad | oxygenforthesoul

Losing my religion →. Terrace garden bliss in Hyderabad. I managed as well as I could with the balcony, even growing a passion fruit vine and a rose, apart from other unusual plants from a local nursery. But there were other problems with the flat, including bad plumbing and noise — cacophony actually — every night from a house and a building opposite. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. A lifetime in this warm cocoon....: Love's labours lost...
http://cosycocoon.blogspot.com/2013/09/loves-labours-lost.html
A lifetime in this warm cocoon. Thursday, 12 September 2013. Slowly and softly rolled the tears. Down the frills of her gentle cheeks. Stressed and submerged in unknown fears. Sleep had deserted her eyes since bygone weeks. Her head quivered every passing second. Buried in the fathoms of the pillow, moist and sullen. No hand to caress, no soul to depend. She drifted deep into her world of pathos and burden. Fond memories of childhood, misty and green. Many a butterfly, many a daffodil had she seen. Throu...

A lifetime in this warm cocoon....: The Nomenclature!!
http://cosycocoon.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-nomenclature.html
A lifetime in this warm cocoon. Thursday, 12 September 2013. Did not have a name till the age of 3, yeah this means i did not have any proof of my entry into this world(in other words… a Birth certificate! No evidence for existence till that tender age! Since, it is a normal practice to put 3yr olds to school, this naming nuisance bothered them even more….They spent dark sleepless nights and equally gloomy dreary days trying to decipher a suitable, sensible name for me! I dont know whether my parents mea...

Blooming summer | oxygenforthesoul
https://oxygenforthesoul.wordpress.com/2013/04/20/summer-blooms
Sprouting celery – Second try. The rain lily doing its job and other developments in the garden →. I changed the title of this post from ‘Flowering summer’ to ‘Blooming summer’ to reflect the nuisance of the extraordinary heat in Bangalore this summer, which makes it difficult to garden during the day, and the joy of the flowering the sun encourages. We get abundant flowering only at this time of the year, and it’s truly oxygen for the soul. The bleeding heart vine is blooming its heart out.

oxygen for the soul: The lone tomato
http://oxygenforthesoul.blogspot.com/2011/02/lone-tomato.html
Oxygen for the soul. My attempts at gardening in Bangalore. Today I brought just one tomato plant from the old apartment to the new one. It has only one tomato, since it was getting barely any sun in its old spot. In the new one, it will get 6-7 hours of strong sunlight. I can't wait to see how the plant responds, especially after I feed it. February 14, 2011 at 2:32 PM. Interesting how you have covered up the grill. Will definitely discourage the rats from trying to get in. Subscribe in a reader.

A tale of two basils | oxygenforthesoul
https://oxygenforthesoul.wordpress.com/2014/10/17/a-tale-of-two-basils
Back to stay →. A tale of two basils. Meanwhile, I had brought two basil growing kits from Target in the US, which germinated well and have been growing well. I recently broke off the tips to encourage bushiness. Looking forward to a plethora of basil. It’s also a great addition to pizza. I see a difference in the basil plants from the two different countries but am not sure if it’s two types of basil or just the US ones not feeling at home in hot India. Hope to find out as they grow bigger.

Newer posts →. I was delighted this morning to see that my episcea plant is sending out runners. I didn’t know that it propagates this way. In the picture, you can see only one runner, but there’s another tiny one starting up. I need to look up how to transplant the runners into pots of their own. My spider plants seem to be well on the way to recovery, giving out new shoots regularly. I got my husband, who’s more patient and methodical than I am, to take a picture so I can keep a record. After I got hom...
