Aussie Bengos: Selfs
http://aussiebengos.blogspot.com/p/selfs_22.html
Lonchura striata domestica - The Self Bengalese Finch (Society Finch) in Australia. The common belief amongst Finchos is that the Bengalese Mannikin has no true natural ancestry and simply stems from fertile hybrids of the Lonchura family that were bred domestically hundreds of years ago. It is my view that keeping the Self Bengo and encouraging others to do so is helping to establish a strain of Finch that is traditionally rare in Australia and is the pure form of an often forgotten Finch in Aviculture.

Lonchura striata domestica - The Self Bengalese Finch (Society Finch) in Australia. Monday, March 25, 2013. Growth Cycle Days 8 - 10. Over these three days you can see how quickly the feathers are growing. The Tail feathers are just starting to stick out. Also from Day one to now the amount for growth in the young is quite astounding. It is no wonder that the young need a consistent amount of good food to grow to their full potential for heath and size. Posted by Paul Kearvell. Saturday, March 23, 2013.
