Queen Domestica in the Land of Testosterone: Life is Nuts
http://ncholmes.blogspot.com/2010/11/life-is-nuts.html
Queen Domestica in the Land of Testosterone. Thursday, November 18, 2010. Life is insane, as usual. Thomas is doing well in school. He loves to read and reads to all of us often. Shocker, the kid needed glasses. One of these days we will get a picture up. Jerry is Jerry. Less than a year until he is in school and we are all looking forward to the day. Michael is no longer a baby. He looks so much like Jerry even I get them mixed up sometimes. S and B H. So fun to hear a little update! Behave, OR ELSE!

Queen Domestica in the Land of Testosterone: April 2010
http://ncholmes.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Queen Domestica in the Land of Testosterone. Thursday, April 22, 2010. Mark off another accomplishment on the Domestic Goddess checklist. I have a habit of buying dry beans. Do I have any idea how to prepare them? No, not really. But they are a good food storage item, and they are so much cheaper and better for you than the canned beans. I buy canned beans in the same shopping trip as the dried beans. Does that make me extra prepared? Beans, the point of this story. Sorry. They cooked on the stov...I now...

Laura's Place
http://lauralowder.blogspot.com/2008/12/in-combox-below-phyllis-alludes-to.html
Monday, December 15, 2008. In the combox, below, Phyllis alludes to an email I shared with several folks from Chorale. I sent an email to composer David Conte, whose "A Stable-Lamp is Lighted" was one of our Joy of the Season selections. The piece is a setting to a poem by Richard Wilbur (b. 1921). I think you'll see why I had trouble getting through this one without tears and choking-up. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master rebuke thy disciples. A stall become a shrine.

Laura's Place: How come...
http://lauralowder.blogspot.com/2008/12/how-come.html
Sunday, December 14, 2008. I can't find any blogs about Catholic womanhood. I mean homekeeping, arts and crafts, being feminine, etc. Must feminine womanhood in all its diverse manifestations be the property of the Protestant evangelicals and fundamentalists? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thanks for stopping by - I'm an erratic and inconsistent blogger, but I hope it does some good to someone, somewhere. I hope it brings you a bit closer to Christ. Laura's Place: August 2008
http://lauralowder.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2008. I'm in a debate on one of the boards I frequent with a woman who's very pro-choice and insists that she would abort if she became pregnant. She called the preborn child a parasite and compared it to a tapeworm. Needless to say, I disagreed with her. What might need to be said is that she and I are friends, so I feel a particular tenderness toward this woman, and a need to protect her from some of the other, even more passionate remarks, of some participants. Nope - the people M...

Laura's Place: June 2008
http://lauralowder.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 29, 2008. There's a fellow over at a website - rather outspoken chap - who has posted a very . penetrating. commentary about Gay Pride marches. Did I say "outspoken? Ummmm yes, I do believe I did. Doesn't spare the language, that fellow - points out that only gays have to force their "private business" into everyone's faces, reducing themselves to their "preferences" -. That we do not reduce ourselves to a genital identification in everything else we do. Amongst the ladies who read here.
