Verona | Neeves Family Italian Adventure

https://neevesitalianadventure.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/verona

Neeves Family Italian Adventure. Asymp; Leave a comment. Keith and Gabby headed back for a nap while I explored Piazza Erbe and climbed the 300 steps of the Tower of Lamberti for some great views of the city. After nap, we wandered around the outside of Castle Vecchio on the edge of the river and crossed the bridge. On the other side of the river we discovered a big playground, a great find for Gabby! It was a great weekend in a beautiful city with amazing weather! So nice that Spring is here! Tower Lamb...

Neeves Family Italian Adventure. Asymp; Leave a comment. The rest of the weekend was rainy, so we stayed close to home. Keith took Gabby out for a carousel ride and gelato in the Piazza in Pordenone after the rain finally stopped. This week we are heading to Florence! Gabby on her way up the path to the castle. Gabby and the Knight. Amazing view from the top (use your imagination). Who knows, but they are fun to climb on! Gabby and Daddy on the carousel in Pordenone. Asymp; Leave a comment. Neeves Family Italian Adventure. Asymp; Leave a comment. On Sunday we got some more swimming in before checking out of the hotel and then we headed to a reptile zoo. The reptile zoo was small, but entertaining for Gabby, she even got to pet a snake! It was a nice and relaxing family weekend and we get to say that we went to another country! This week YaYa and PopPop come to visit! Villach, Austria – view from our hotel. Hiking in the Austrian Alps. 8220;What he saying Momma? Asymp; Leave a comment. Carna...

Neeves Family Italian Adventure. Asymp; Leave a comment. As we are nearing the end of our time here, Gabby’s Italian is really starting to improve. She has lots of words and a few phrases. I am often surprised by the things she can say. At the park, she can now ask the other kids “come ti chiami? 8221; (what is your name? 8221; Other words she can say at meal times are frutta (fruit), mela (apple), latte (milk), acqua (water), forchetta (fork), zucchini (Keith says that counts). Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2012/08/have-you-ever-heard-saying-perfect-is.html

Have you ever heard the saying "The 'perfect' is the enemy of the 'good'? That sums up a lot about my personality - I'm always putting things off (or occasionally avoiding them altogether). Anyways, today Troy took the afternoon off work (a partial make-up for having to work on Wednesday's holiday). And we headed downtown to visit the biennial Flower Carpet. For the last Flower Carpet, in 2010, I wrote a good post all about it. If I do say it myself). So no need to repeat myself now. View from the café.

Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure: May 2011

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Things have been busy lately. Instead of blogging, I've been spending my days on the interwebs and making phone calls- switching over our utilities, updating our address, coordinating appointments with workmen, searching for furniture and lighting for the apartment, and researching baby furniture and gear. The whole thing is extremely time-consuming and minutia-filled ,. Much better, huh? Years old, from all backgrounds. The club is affiliated with the American Women's Club of Brussels, but we also h...

Maren at 6 Months! Maren is 6 months old already and cute as a button,. If we do say it ourselves. So if a picture is worth 1000 words, then this album buys me 80,000 words! Maren Aurelia Weeks 13-26 Photo Album - Click Here. This year was the first time that we stayed in Brussels over the holidays, but after our terrible travel experiences the last two Christmases. Our holiday season kicked off in late November when we took a drive to Aachen. Dennis and Sharon at the Aachen Christmas Market. Troy walked...

Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure: June 2011

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Loire Valley Pt. 1: Chartres Cathedral. For our sixth wedding anniversary, and the last one prior to the arrival of kids(! We decided to take a long weekend in France. Troy had been wanting to visit Chartres Cathedral for years, and I had a hankering to see some of the famous. Of the Loire Valley so we planned a little driving trip around those sites. We set off from Brussels on a Friday morning and made excellent time to the outskirts of Paris, stopping at a roadside. The traffic going through Paris was.

Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure: December 2010

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

A Visit to Champagne. Earlier this fall, Troy was working like crazy on a project in England. The new system went "live" on November 2nd, and thankfully everything went well! He hadn't had a day off in ages. Sometimes not even a weekend! So just after Armistice Day we decided to sneak off for a long weekend to the land of Dom Perignon: Champagne! We found yet another wonderful, unique B&B in our Sawday book, this time an 1800s farm/manor house located in the teeny-tiny village of Oyes. Even the village i...

And Little Roo, of course! A beautiful baby shower. Simone, Cornelle, Maisie, Ali, Marcie, Angie, Erin, Raven (not pictured, unfortunately! My friend Maisie, one of the co-hosts, kindly opened her home to us for a Sunday afternoon tea, complete with finger sandwiches, chilled soup, fruit, petits fours. Cake, and tea. The other co-host, Ali, is a baker-extraordinaire and she made this sweet cake, among other goodies! Tummy drops, gripe water, teething gel, etc.). Our anniversary falls in late May. And is ...

Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure: August 2011

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

It's been a crazy few weeks around the Raarup Belgique household, and filled with summer birthdays. First, back on June 15th we celebrated Monsieur Raarup's 38th. In what has become a sort of a Troy-birthday-tradition ( here. For example) I fixed fajitas, guacomole, and margaritas for dinner, though my "marg" had to be a juice cocktail this year for obvious reasons. For dessert, I made Troy's favorite chocolate-cherry-armagnac cake. Dolce (Italian for sweet). Speaking of being preggo, that leads me to th...

Troy & Simone's Belgian Adventure: February 2012

http://raarupbelgium.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

So this is certainly not the first time that I have written about. On this blog, but I haven't written on precisely this topic before: baby food! My parents got us this great Béaba baby food cooker. For Christmas. It steams and purées. Plus defrosts and reheats if you are so inclined. Though I prefer the speed of the microwave for defrosting and reheating, I like the idea of the extra features just in case. Her food; and it's a fraction of the cost of store-bought baby food. Brilliant. World Vision - Bui...
