Saturday, August 2, 2014. THE ANSWER IS IN THE SEASHELLS. We went to the beach. We traded Colorado for Florida. We went on vacation both of us. When we boarded our plane bright and early on Tuesday morning, I knew this wasn’t a small accomplishment. Our nursing coverage plan fell through a few weeks before we were supposed to leave! As we were driving to Vero Beach, I got report from nurse Gemma that Jacob was doing perfectly fine! Gemma urged us to stay as planned. Jacob’s nursing team would b...And as ...

Moments with Jacob: SLOWING DOWN
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2015/07/slowing-down.html
Friday, July 24, 2015. The stress fracture got confirmed today by the doctor. Luckily it's a mild fracture. When the doctor heard about my busy life and carrying my 65 pounds boy throughout the day, the boot was a fact. I negotiated some exercise to keep my sanity. I am allowed to swim and try biking if it doesn't hurt, no running! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to Jacob's blog! Photos of Jacob and family! Moments with Jacob: THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-wheels-on-bus-go-round-and-round.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. THE WHEELS ON THE BUS GO ROUND AND ROUND. This year we’re trying something new. Jacob is taking the school bus to and from school for the first time in his life! Jacob always asks us to take him somewhere with the help of his talker. I knew Jacob would love to go on a ride every day! In addition it helps us to get Sarah to her activities and for us to not have to interrupt work to take Jacob to and from school. Win-win solution for all of us! Look how big our boy looks! Jacob̵...

Moments with Jacob: THE SNOWBALL EFFECT
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-snowball-effect.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. I feel I am taking back years in time tonight, to the time when we truly never knew when Jacob would land in the hospital. If somebody would have told me this morning that Jacob would sleep in the PICU tonight, I would have said "no way". But that is where he is once again tonight. Keep Jacob in your thoughts and prayers tonight. September 26, 2013 at 5:24 AM. September 26, 2013 at 8:32 PM. Eleanor, thank you so much! September 26, 2013 at 4:18 PM. Linda, thank you so much!

Moments with Jacob: FREEDOM!
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2015/07/freedom.html
Sunday, July 5, 2015. Last week, we got to see the results. I have already in the last week taken Jacob out in the backyard for his afternoon feeds and dinners and it's SO easy! I simply roll his chair out, and voila! For our boy who always want to go somewhere and loves the outside. Yesterday we had a BBQ for 4th of July, and we all could enjoy it together on our deck! Jacob was feeling better from the cold he had struggled with earlier this week, and decided to be a chatter box! Welcome to Jacob's blog!

Saturday, May 9, 2015. MOTHER'S DAY WITH A TERMINALLY ILL CHILD. And this is the secret - my Mother's Day is far better than any Hallmark card. It is a very special day because I got one. More Mother's Day together with both my children. Moments with Jacob: 24 HOURS INTO OUR PICU STAY
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2014/11/24-hours-into-our-picu-stay.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. 24 HOURS INTO OUR PICU STAY. It is a good thing, but I had forgotten how busy it is when you have a sick child in the PICU! All day we have had members of the PICU team, Jacob's specialty doctors and nurses running in and out of his room. I can't believe it is dinner time already. The team tells us we need to give Jacob time to heal. So for now we have moved in to the PICU once again. My Handsome Jacob,. How does he eat? Or "What happened to him? So, Jacob be good to your nurse...

Moments with Jacob: A TURN FOR THE WORSE
http://momentswithjacob.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-turn-for-worse.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. A TURN FOR THE WORSE. There are times I think back on our hardest hospital stays. I often wonder how we did it, and how I will do it again when the time comes. The answer is simple. There is no choice. There is just not a chance Jacob will ever be alone in this. We are doing the smaller part of the bargain as our boy fights for his life. It sure is an emotional roller coaster. It is as if Jacob gets really, really sick before the stool shows up. I also think the stress do...
