Spring is a fretful time in the vineyard: just as bud burst begins, there is danger of a late frost - in fact, in many ways, the danger of frost on the vineyard is at the start of the season, not the end. A bad frost in spring can can burn the new shoots and knock out a whole row of vines, sometimes more. To combat this, we use the wind machines or helicopters, these draw warmer air down into the vineyard to proctect our precious shoots.
