Bolivia- Lake Titicaca (March 2008) « Lisa and Neil’s big adventure

Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Bolivia- Lake Titicaca (March 2008). We based ourselves at the small village of Copacabana at the southern shores of the lake. It’s nestled between two hills and for centuries it was the site of religious pilgrimages, nowadays its a very laid back bohemian town, with arty cafe’s and late night smoky jazz bars. We stayed in a beautiful hostel called La Cupula, with hammocks overlooking the lake and gorgeous views across the village. April 10, 2008.

Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Peru – Machu Pichu (February). I think we must have been the only gringo’s that didn’t know that the Inca Trail is officially closed over February. Not that I’m complaining- spending 3 days climbing up and down stairs (I don’t care how old they are), is fairly dull in my opinion. I have heard countless tales of inflated ankles and swollen kneecaps. However, I didn’t get out of it that easily, in fact we actually ended up doing an. This is the village ...

Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Peru – Huacachina. Huacachina is a small oasis in an otherwise beautiful but featureless sand desert. It was once a playground for rich Peruvian elite but now has been relegated to a playground for smelly backpackers. When we arrived it was very quiet as it was low season in February. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. More pictures of the beautiful desert. It was like being in a film. 8220;Casa de Arena – A perennially popular place wit...
Iguazu Falls – Argentina (February 2008) « Lisa and Neil’s big adventure

Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Iguazu Falls – Argentina (February 2008). The Falls are actually 275 different falls spread across the border of Argentina and Brazil. We took the boat trip across the Argentinean side. The power, size and sheer noise of the falls is amazing, with negative ions generated by the waterfalls apparently making people feel very happy and giggly. Guess where we are. March 17, 2008. Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Brazil – Rio Carnival (February 2008). This is our lounge, the whole place was split over two levels and was one block from the gorgeous Ipanema beach. These photos need no explanantion. We’re at The Sambadrome and its wonderful (rainy) mayhem. This kid was so cute, and gave me his whistle as a pressie whilst his mum was handing out homemade snacks from a tupperware box to everyone. March 15, 2008. March 15, 2008. The farmyard was picture perfect....

Just another WordPress.com site. How to say yes in Umea. January 19, 2015. January 19, 2015. Vätternrundan – a nice read for a winter’s evening. December 19, 2012. A slightly edited version of this article appeared in Cycling Plus. At the computer and turned to my Swedish girlfriend, who was riding beside me. She didn’t know she was my Swedish girlfriend yet; we’d only met five minutes earlier when I’d ridden up alongside her and I hadn’t got as far as telling her. Fourteen Swedish miles to go! Course...

Lisa and Neil’s big adventure
Lisa and Neil’s big adventure. Our world travel blog. Columbia (March/ April 2008). One of Columbia’s most popular national parks, Tayrona is on the jungle covered coast just east of Santa Marta. The park’s beaches, set in deep bays and shaded with coconut palms, are among the loveliest in Columbia. Hammocks were plentiful, and the nights were spent drinking rum and playing cards by candlelight. Our beds for the week. We then went and stayed in the fishing village of Taganga. This is where we slept on ou...
