Although the news coming out of Nepal has been bad, with a 7.3 magnitude quake coming just 2 weeks after the 7.9 jolt and aftershocks, there seems to be some hope that things are starting to enter the rebuilding phase. The Nepali Times had a series of pictures showing the destruction but also the spirit of the Nepalese people. Some pictures here.

After back-to-back 4 hr flights from Sarong to Jakarta and then Jakarta to Hong Kong, Andrew and I took a couple more days in Hong Kong to relax before the long flight back to Canada. Thursday, 9 October 2014. I'm not much of a history buff but the culture and architecture of Nepal is quite fascinating. There are so many interesting temples, shrines, gods, goddesses and intricate designs. On the way back from Nagarkot we stopped at the city of Bhaktapur. And later went to Durbar Square in Kathmandu. We didn't get any more rock climbing in due to rain in the Sedona area and a sinus cold that kicked the crap out of me while we were in Moab. Wednesday, 1 July 2015. Over the past couple weeks, Andrew and I were out in the mountains on a paragliding and climbing trip. Unfortunately, neither of us think we can also fit scuba diving gear in the car! We first headed to Vernon due to its close proximity to climbing at Skaha Bluffs in Penticton. After three long days with two or three flights per day, I'm not sure if I was feeling better about things or not! Flying at Baldy, near Vernon, BC.
