Notes on value, decisions, and how minds handle them. Sunday, April 4, 2010. To Intern for Free or Not. The New York Times recently had an interesting (and surprising) article titled Growth of Unpaid Internships May Be Illegal, Officials Say. Unpaid internships are a messy issue. We don't want workers to be exploited. However, if somebody is willing to work for free to gain experience, build their resume, or for a host of other reasons, shouldn't we let them? Those cases show only one side of the story, ...

Notes on value, decisions, and how minds handle them. Sunday, February 28, 2010. Finding the Sprouts in the Mud. Four articles that I read online yesterday remain in my mind. Three were so full of unsupported assertions and pseudo-science that I wanted to argue with my computer for displaying them. The other one was phenomenal - beautifully written and full of thought-provoking material. Nobody can force someone else to find the sprouts in the mud and tend to them properly, to nourish them and help them ...

Nathan Pinger's Blog: March 2010
http://www.nathanpinger.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Notes on value, decisions, and how minds handle them. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. I've watched a number of effective managers in my life . . . and I've even tried to imitate some of their successes. One thing that they all had in common: their teams just worked. Of course, the strangest part was that these managers never seemed to be devoting huge amounts of time to managing their people. Work just got done, and it was high quality. How did the great managers craft these dream teams? Instead of trying to ...

Notes on value, decisions, and how minds handle them. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Finding What You NEED To Do. I like being at Chicago Booth. Elon musk did all of the above in his amazing interview at the All Things D Conference. View my complete profile. Follow My Thoughts Via Email:.
