Spectral Radiation-Transport Model for Aerosol Species. SPRINTARS は，大気中の浮遊粒子状物質エアロゾルによる地球規模の気候変動および大気汚染の状況をコンピュータにより再現予測するために開発された数値モデルソフトウェアです。が中心となり開発しており，対流圏に存在する自然起源人為起源の主要エアロゾル黒色炭素有機物硫酸塩土壌粒子海塩粒子を取り扱います。これらは，いわゆるSPM, PM10, PM2.5としても分類されます。 SPRINTARSでは，エアロゾルの輸送過程発生移流拡散化学反応湿性沈着乾性沈着重力落下が計算されます。また，エアロゾル放射相互作用エアロゾルによる太陽地球放射の散乱吸収およびエアロゾル雲相互作用エアロゾルの雲に対する凝結核氷晶核の機能も計算に含まれます。 SPRINTARSは，気候変動に関する政府間パネル (IPCC) 第4次評価報告書 2007年のエアロゾルによる気候への影響評価において，アジアから唯一貢献した国際的に認められたエアロゾルモデルです。
