Meredith Miotke Illustration: Midtown Maps
http://meredithmiotke.blogspot.com/2013/03/midtown-maps.html
Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Here's the next bit in my series of Detroit maps, my present place of residence, Midtown! There are so many fine art-and food-related places, that I had to pare it down a bit AND make two maps. How about that? I even threw a bit of process in there for you- a little glimpse at my color studies. Try not to get too excited about it, ok? Control your bowels and whatnot. Detroit institute of art. Meredith Miotke Illustration: July 2012

Monday, July 30, 2012. I'm taking a little trip. I'm giving Detroit a little break from me hanging around all the time, and taking off to bother New York for a few days. I took all my knowledge of perspective and scribbled this out in the middle of my packing mania (which is actually not for my trip, but for my move the day after I get back. Why pack/unpack one bag, when you can pack/unpack so many more? Champion. Adventure ahoy. Sunday, July 29, 2012. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. You know, ink. Maybe a lit...

Meredith Miotke Illustration: November 2012
http://meredithmiotke.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 15, 2012. Here's another alcohol-based assignment. We had to design front and back labels for a liquor, then apply it to a container of our choice. After debating between the few liquors I enjoy (hint: not tequila), I landed on moonshine. Monday, November 12, 2012. Ten Paces and Draw: Cocktails. So, I contributed to Ten Paces and Draw. This time around the theme was "Cocktails", which I was all over. Check my sketch, this piece, and all the other awesome work here. Ten paces and draw.

Meredith Miotke Illustration: August 2012

Sunday, August 19, 2012. So, I got an awesome suggestion to make my meat drawing into a book cover for "The Jungle", from Seabass. This is a little something I have so far, but I've been stuck. I'd like to blame the time of the summer. Can I do that? Saturday, August 18, 2012. Call Me, Maybe? Help I've fallen into my sketchbook and can't get up. Meredith Miotke Illustration: Eastern Market Map
http://meredithmiotke.blogspot.com/2013/04/eastern-market-map.html
Tuesday, April 23, 2013. The last map for the semester (but not necessarily forever)! Last but definitely not least. It's one of my favorite places, especially now with the start of spring. I had to do a bit of editing here and there for composition-sake, so not all of the wonderful establishments are there. I've included color studies again, so you all know how much I was thinking about the color green. More Detroit maps in the future? So go ahead and give that a good look over if you want!

Meredith Miotke Illustration: February 2013
http://meredithmiotke.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 19, 2013. For the past few weeks I've been lurking in a corner at my desk, working on a few projects, and developing that fine transparent skin tone I've always longed for. As evidence, here's one of those projects (skin transparency to be debuted at graduation). As a sort of continuation of the Corktown. I did last semester, I'm making maps of different Detroit areas. So first up this semester is Belle Isle. I've already started the next few, so WATCH OUT. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Meredith Miotke Illustration: May 2012

Saturday, May 19, 2012. Who's sick of this piece? To continue to add to the design side of my portfolio/beef up my design skills, I made a little mock-up of a book cover using my James and the Giant Peach. Piece I'm going to make it into a hardcover sleeve. I typed that because I just thought of it, and you should always type exactly what you're thinking at that exact moment, right? Lunchmeat. Car Alarm. Cereal. Is it dinner yet? In the towers of your honeycomb". Who knows. MP3s, iPods, internet, bro.

Meredith Miotke Illustration: Corktown Map
http://meredithmiotke.blogspot.com/2012/12/corktown-map.html
Thursday, December 13, 2012. Finals, guys. I have one class left, and then I'm done with the first half of my senior year. Here's one of my final projects from the semester. This project was to create a body of work- a main illustration, a supporting illustration, and then a series of patterns (with some alternate color schemes). I chose to base mine around one of my favorite Detroit eating areas (and historical areas), Corktown. So there you have it. December 28, 2012 at 2:19 AM. View my complete profile.
