Gandhi was for it and wrote on 10 Oct 1947. I do believe that we should hurry up with the reorganisastion of linguistic provinces.' . Nehru while appreciative of the need. It is axiomatic that the masses can only grow educationally and culturally through the medium of their own language'. Seemed to have second thoughts after Independence.
