Betta Dey for Okra Soup. About Being in Nigeria. The First Three Months Were Hard…. 8230;and then they were over. I’m now into my fourth month here in Nigeria, and things are looking quite a bit sunnier (though I wish the real sun would simmer down a bit; it’s so dang hot here)! But as Month Three slowly passed me by, I started to feel strange…like I was becoming a bit alien myself! So here’s to the next. Whatever will become of me? St Augustine’s Catholic Church: Not a Boring Post, I Swear! A designated...

Betta Dey for Okra Soup. About Being in Nigeria. Goodbye, Nigeria…. Loveth by her daddy's okada. Can you believe it? Can you believe I’m going back to Oregon in two days? Well, if you’ve only been reading my blogs, you probably can’t. But if you’ve been a listening ear (either here in Nigeria or back at home), you probably can. And if there were a window to my heart and mind, you most certainly could. I don’t mind sharing, I just can’t do it via a public blog. So here goes nothing! A personal relationshi...

Betta Dey for Okra Soup. About Being in Nigeria. Breaking Up with Doing My Best. Reach for the stars! But I ask you this: what’s wrong with aiming no higher than personal satisfaction? Or giving it a percentage that mathematically exists? Or recognizing that yes, you might be able to do. But do you really. Or seeing that reaching for the stars is a bit overkill? I’m taking you in this direction for a reason, so just bear with me for the next few paragraphs. Did she just say success? 8221; And I will figu...

Sannu da zuwa. Welcome to my blog. Thursday, 30 September 2010. United Bank of Africa - UBA. During my first few days of In Country Training we were advised by VSOs Big Man on how to open a bank account so we can be paid our allowance.
