A blog about transit in Pittsburgh and around the world. Friday, February 1, 2008. Bus Peeves Chapter One. The schedules are never there! It's hard for a lot of people to acquire a schedule for a route. If you work downtown, you can get them at T stations or at the Port Authority Service Center. Some are really old. There's a lot of the old buses. There's no system map. The system map. The lack of PNC Park. That's right. I can't find "Way To Go" maps anywhere on the website. Same goes for the "Ri...The t...

Peak Direction: Strike Averted!
http://peakdirection.blogspot.com/2008/11/strike-averted.html
A blog about transit in Pittsburgh and around the world. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Just a quick update: the Port Authority will not impose the new contract on Dec. 1. The old contract will stay for now, a tentative agreement on a secret new contract. Has been reached, and a work stoppage/strike/lockout/really bad thing has been called off. But will the new contract be ratified by the union and board? Does it bring down costs to Onorato's liking? Chris at Null Space. Has some thoughts worth reading.

A blog about transit in Pittsburgh and around the world. Sunday, December 9, 2007. The fun decals are gone people! Arrgh You know, constantly on the radio this week I've heard callers who constantly mention how Port Authority's ills must be based completely. On those fun stickers on the side of the bus that are of the old "Ride Gold" logo. Or say " Port Authority. All around the bus. (The pictures here are from a neat website called " The Bus Stops Here.
