Rufus Allen – Obituary. From the June 30, 1903 Skidmore Standard (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1, column 4:. Gone But Not Forgotten. All was done by his relatives and physicians, Drs. Shepard of Skidmore and Wallace of St. Joseph, who were called in consultation with Dr. Ryan, to restore health but to no avail. His spirit took its flight to the God who gave it.
