Lighthouse in the Sky. Astronomy, science, technology, whimsy. Not necessarily in that order. The development version of ipython. Recently added a "notebook" interface mode. This resembles the interface of MAPLE. In order to give it a proper test, I applied it to a problem that a friend asked me about. It's about the card game Set. How often do you run into a tableau with no sets? And this seemed like a nice test problem for ipython. You can see the results here. For my comments on ipython, read on.

It may well be part of your server's distribution, or you might end up using pip and virtualenv (you might want to do it this way anyway; I use virtualenvwrapper too). While this might look like a meteor, and in fact it is asteroidal material falling to Earth, it's actually some extremely expensive fireworks. It's the Hayabusa spacecraft. Returning to Earth after visiting asteroid 25143 Itokawa. And the material it brought back was safely encapsulated. The Apollo missions, Stardust.
