When I was 10, my Mom and Dad gave me a Sony Tape Cassette recorder. I was completely captivated by recording anything and everything, and I was amazed at how you could save the sounds to tape, organize the tapes, and later play them back at any time (provided I had batteries). It kicked off a life long fascination with how sound can be manipulated, stored, and recalled. I've taught classes on sound mixing and video editing at Fullerton College, Saddleback College, and Capistrano Unified School District.
