Flying Unicorns in Dubai. First leg of my around the world trip- Dubai. If Paris is known as “the city of lights”, New York City as “the big apple”, Dubai should be known as “ the city where money can buy it all. 8221; Located in the middle of the desert, it seems as if the people of Dubai said “middle of the desert? In the world. Maybe a rainbow land? I don’t know. Producing bewteen 50,000 and 70,000 barrels of oil a day I guess come with its perks! Sometimes I felt like I was on the Jetsons. Emirates t...

High as a kite. So you probably know somebody who's obsess with the stock market don't you? You know, the person who is constantly looking at the bottom sticker on CNN. Or has the app on their phone telling him/her of every stock, the high and the lows, the closing prices, etc. Well, I sort of have a similar obsession with plane tickets. I know it's kinda weird but I love spending time on kayak. Trying to spot a good place for "take off" :). Charleston scene on a windy day at station 28.5. Well, when I s...

Nomadiando: Take That Jules Verne!
http://sfalla-nomadiando.blogspot.com/2013/12/take-that-jules-verne_11.html
Take That Jules Verne! I would have loved to have traveled around the world. For 80 days, but until I find the magic way to travel in such a way…. well 20 days would have to do it for now. I'm not complaining. Flying east in one direction and returning to the same spot was a first for me. Confirming that the earth is actually round, other than going on google maps was also pretty mind blowing…. If you don't have 80 days nor 20 well how about 5 minutes to go around the world? Nomadiando: NY Redemption: bread, walking and good tennis

NY Redemption: bread, walking and good tennis. Two years ago, I decided it was time to go to my first US open in NYC. Seeing Arthur Ashe Stadium. I think one of the main reasons the trip was such a disaster was the fact that on the second night I had to be rushed to the ER. Needless to say, the last day of my visit I was really looking forward to being back in Charleston. I couldn't believe myself! Had I spent so much time in the South that NYC now felt almost like a different country? Ohh no, I had kind...

Around the world in 80 days….Ok 18 days :-). As much as I’d love to follow Jules Verne’s around the world in 80 days, I haven’t found my golden ticket nor the money tree that keeps on giving so 18 days would have to do. This is the first time I was able to travel flying in one direction, covering the earth’s full circumference. I started in Charleston heading east stopping in Frankfurt, Dubai, India, and China (Macau, Hong Kong) and finally back to the same point where I started. First Stop, Dubai.

In light of the recent events at the French Open, I know i should probably be writing about Rafa Nadal's. Instead, I'd like to write about the greatest player in the history of Tennis. I'm talking off course about the one and only Roger Federer. Last year, I got the chance to mark off one of the items from my bucket list. I had the opportunity to watch the federer express. Best of all. Roger Validates cool guys can cry too :). DON'T GIVE AWAY YOUR PAPAYA. A big part of traveling. Let me show you how.

Killing Parasites in China. After visiting India, I had a hard time not thinking about a story I had hear from a friend of mine. She happens to be a great doctor and had warned me about the dangers of parasites. In India. She had told me this horrible story about a coworker of hers, who picked up some sort of intestinal bug while on a medical mission in India. I don't remember exactly all the medical intricacies of the story but the gist of it was basically "DON'T GET THEM" …. Why not in China? I'm sure ...

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Partying with Berber people, Sahara Desert. Koala Bear, Sydney Australia. Flatiron Building, NYC. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
