Emily is Smiling: Blogging About Blogging
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2014/12/blogging-about-blogging.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. EDIT: To clarify, I'm not finished blogging forever. This isn't the end of Emily is Smiling. However, for the time being, I need a break. This is all a big ramble and definitely breaking the unspoken rule of "Never Blog About Blogging," but if you read my blog regularly at all, I hope you'll take a moment to read. A day may come in the future where I sit down and re-shape Emily is Smiling into what it was before. I treasure some of the blog posts I've written. This pla...I'm s...

Emily is Smiling: The Dollar
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2009/12/dollar.html
Saturday, December 26, 2009. Here is a poem that I wrote when I was ten years old. I think that it shows that I have had a calling to help the needy since I was quite young. It's poorly written, but I think it has a sweet message. A little girl got a dollar for her birthday. She went out with her mother to spend it. It was very dark and cold outside,. And the streetlights were brightly lit. A rabbi at the temple called to her,. I need that money! Do you know why? Because my temple must be made bigger!

Emily is Smiling: Christmas Poems
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2009/12/christmas-poems.html
Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Today is one of those days where I do not have enough time to write a full entry, so here is a promised poem from my childhood. I do believe that I wrote it when I was in the fifth grade. Enjoy. Let's take a look at Christmas,. So merry and happy indeed. Bouncy balls and little dolls. And a storybook to read. Let's save time for Christmas,. Stockings over the fire,. Candy canes for you and me,. Ev'ry year the tree is higher. Let's not wait for Christmas,. The End of a Decade.

Emily is Smiling: Africa.
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2011/12/africa.html
Monday, December 19, 2011. Day 26: Where would you like to live one day? I don't think I want to live here for all of my adult life, but I do feel a little calling to live here for a year or two out of my life, maybe more. Well, my heart sings for a continent filled with huge smiles, big hearts, and incredible poverty. Lately I've been aching to go back to Africa. I would love to live there one day, at least for a while. December 31, 2011 at 4:38 AM. Have you read Kisses from Katie? Help Find Haley Wilson.

Emily is Smiling: Psalm 100: Joy
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2014/12/psalm-100-joy.html
Friday, December 12, 2014. The reason I've intermingled a psalm from the Bible with these pictures is because as I remember this night from a few weeks ago, I feel so much joy and I am thankful for God's grace in allowing me to have a strong community and happy memories. The Lord given my heart this joy. Psalm 100 is one of my favorite joyful psalms, so I thought I would share it along with a few of these happy photos. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness;. Why I consi...

Emily is Smiling: Excited.
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2011/12/excited.html
Thursday, December 22, 2011. Day 29: What are you excited about? Oh man, it's only three days until Christmas, so I feel like everything in my life is chaotic and busy and fun and exciting right now. I'm excited to see Ali late tomorrow night when she finally comes home for her break. It will have been exactly two months to the day since we've seen each other, which is rough. We've already planned a book to write, crafts to create, movies to watch, and videos to capture. I'm excited because I'm getting i...

Emily is Smiling: Romans: Thankfulness
http://www.emilytheperson.com/2013/12/romans-thankfulness.html
Thursday, December 26, 2013. Feel free to print this Bible study and send it to your sponsored child, just as I do for mine! In this passage, Paul gives thanksgiving for the Christian churches. He also explains how the gospel is the saving power of God and the good news for the whole world. What are you thankful for? I thank God for you every day. Even in Kenya or America, there will sometimes be persecution for what we believe. Sometimes it will come by people not liking us or treating us unfairly&#...
