Obscure IT Issues and Fixes. Our company acquired an older PowerVault 745N Dell Server, nothing too robust, but something that could serve a purpose somewhere, if even for a test box. It was equipped with 4 250GB drives in a raid 5, and 1GB memory. The server was not bootable due to HDD failure, or some other drive malfunction. Our solution, which may help others dealing with Dell’s wonderful hardware:. Destroy the raid (if created) on the PowerVault, and then create a JBOD with one just disc of any size.

For anyone who uses Cisco’s CRES or Certified Registered Envelope Service and Ironport Secure E-Mail, any domain that uses Google’s Postini for spam filtering is now marking the encrypted envelopes as bad, and discarding them. The encrypted e-mail never reaches its intended recipient. Below is the letter Cisco sent to their Encryption System users:.
