Tuesday, 23 June 2015. PCV Oil Catch Can. The situation is once again critical with my EGR system, seems it blocks up totally every 50,000 miles resulting in the common P400 Code. The only fix is entire removal of the whole EGR system including its water cooling system, and clean out, as the flow is blocked throuhgout. UPDATE - 700 MILES SINCE INSTALL. Posted by Mr Oilybits. Friday, 23 January 2015. Clutch Industries Mantic Heavy Duty Grooved Clutch. Not a lot to say about this upgrade, fairly straight forward replacement of the original clutch with the "Clutch Industries Australia" Mantic ER2 Heavy Duty Grooved Clutch. Current mileage @90,000, original clutch is still OK but the slave cylinder was not releasing properly and the bearing had started to howl, replacement clutch, NSK bearing and original Toyota slave cylinder soon fixed it. Time for new leaf springs as my NS spring has gone all floppy, after a lot of research into the springs available I made the decision to buy the "ARB - Old Man Emu" Leaf Springs, part CS045R. These are rated to have a "60% higher constant load capacity" and give a 1.5" lift. Hopefully these will never need changing again. TOYOTA SPRINGS (5 Leaf). Weight 20.25 kg Each. The only concern I have is the weak Pistons in this engine, which were replaced during a major engine rebuild at 94,000 as they had all gone oval or cracked, this system will cause more air (condensed air) to enter the cylinder and so the cylinder pressure will be greater after combustion, this could hasten their demise if they are not actually any stronger than the original pistons. we will soon find out! 10 ( points above ambient).
