WHAT YOU MIGHT ACHIEVE FROM THERAPY. Conflict makes us suffer, we feel angry and scared. We focus on what’s about to be lost. Most of the time, we opt to suppress it. My philosophy is that as conflict is inevitable, it is worth being clearly understood. With a deeper understanding, new possibilities and collaboration can emerge. In fact couples who have not experienced and surpassed a complex challenge might be more at risk. Arguing without destroying the sense of safety.

HOW DOES IT WORK? The structure I use is to have joint sessions alternated with individual ones with each party. The idea of the single session is to explore, in confidence, aspects that may still be challenging to share during the joint ones. Refining each party’s understanding on the respective assumptions and worldviews. Learning how to listen. Exploring categorical statements and punitive language. Looking at how to collaborate. Homework in the form of tasking may be agreed.

Trailing Spouse’s sense of isolation, acting like a “single parent”. Children’s bullying, self harming and anxiety to perform.

After working in finance and advertising in New York and going through a divorce, I (French born) became a psychotherapist in 2003 after re-settling in London. I wrote a thesis on Connectedness, believing that therapy is one of the best ways of improving one’s sense of connection and can easily transform the experience of living. I follow an Existential Phenomenological paradigm as a psychotherapist which theory places a strong emphasis on the relational world.
